Quoted from toddw:#475 from Coin Taker just arrived! We had the best delivery and setup from Derek and Erica. Ours is perfect out of the box.[quoted image][quoted image]
Congrats! They are the best, hopefully they are delivering mine too.
I'm soon to be an official member. Just ordered my LE. Couple of questions:
1. I was told even though I'm ordering late, I still might get a lower number. but, I was also told it was a later run. I ask because I would feel more comfortable if it wasn't one of the earlier runs which seem to have problems with playfields.
2. I saw post for subwoofer. Ordered, thanks team. I also saw the note about pinnovators. I went to their site and saw product they had that allowed up to 4 pins using same subwoofer. Anyone have this product? Is it good?
Thanks, Stan

I thought LEs were sold out

Mine was delivered yesterday with a born on date of september 16. I too was under the impression the LE's were sold out.
Quoted from Navystan:I was told even though I'm ordering late, I still might get a lower number.
LE number is basically random & irrelevant. They have all the number plates in a pile and grab one for each game; not built in order. Number 17 is no more special than number 486, unless you think it is. But yeah, I'd want a newer build regardless of number.
Quoted from estrader:I too was under the impression the LE's were sold out.
Stern sold out. Distributors are not all sold out. This "sold out!" thing comes up for every title. Yeah, Stern sold them all in 24 hours. Their sales job ends there.

I was under the impression that distributors sold out. It was difficult for me to find one LE a month ago.

I think a lot of people canceled their LE orders because of the playfield issues (taking a wait and see approach). So the LE's have been more available.

Good point. FWIW I dont have playfield art around my post.
That’s better than a number !

Quoted from timlah79:I decided to take the existing cabinet sub out of the mix by detaching the harness/connector and just connecting the speaker wire to the harness itself. Unsure what frequencies actually travel through the existing sub, but if it's only lows then it seems like only running audio through the new sub makes sense. However, either way I really have to crank the new sub vol. control. Doesn't appear that the existing line pushes much volume through... or since it's only leveraging a L or a R channel when it hits the new sub, the vol. is cut in half. I'm looking into this kit actually: PINsub SPIKE Stern Kit.
For anyone who is looking to add an external sub, I've learned that the
PINsub SPIKE Stern Kit
Is the way to go (after not only a couple recommendations from nice folks on pinside but also the amazing customer service from the manufacturer!). At only an extra $35 ($40ish with shipping) I feel like it's well worth the $ to hook this up right. Doing so avoids over-driving the sub, sacrificing audio quality, and reportedly will avoid possible damage to the existing audio board. I was also able to pick up the Polk sub many have recommended for $99 via Amazon. I'll follow up once I get the kit.

I played a game last night and I could have sworn that the rescue light by the T-rex ramp was white and not orange. Am I going crazy or does that light change to white?
Quoted from adamross:Excited to finally be in the club! Everything seems to be working fine out of the box.
Nice...though you now have TWO Jurassic machines. Probably should do something about that

Be Nice to have 2 back to back in dueling T-Rex Mode...
Haha it would be. I thought no other toy could beat the DE T-Rex until I saw Stern's t-rex in action. Amazing how interactive it is.
Curious what established pin owners thoughts are about drawing a line when it comes to "fixing" issues with a NIB LE. As I understand it Stern's warranty only covers electrical issues, not the physical ones I've been facing. With that said their support has been great in helping me. It's just starting to get to a point where I feel like I've already spent more time than I should be opening this thing up, adjusting defects, taking photos and videos, etc. My guess is I'm probably at the 8+ hour mark on all of it. Only one of 3 issues have been resolved. The most aggravating one being the T-Rex rarely ever catching the ball. Happy to provide details (or you can look at my previous posts) but does anyone have a guideline they follow? i.e. "I will only spend xxx hours working on a NIB issue before I ask for a full assembly replacement of the part in question." Something to that effect? I'm trying to be reasonable here as again, they are truly trying to help me but in the end, I've become the technician. This is my first pin. Appreciate any advice!
348 in the house! Fresh coat of wax then started playing.
Started a mode and went right into chaos multiball to get the good score.
This is my first look at in home invisiglass and all i have to say is wow!
One thing my game is doing is holding the ball in the raptor cage after a game ends then when starting a new game it has to ball search and drop the door. This doesnt seem like normal behavior, is it?

All other rescue inserts are orange. Why is this one white?
EDIT: I just saw a screen shot from Stern's page. Thiers is orange. Mine is clear. Unless I'm misreading it, this is really bad. Did they actually use the wrong color insert? Jeez. How many mistakes on one playfield?

My Trex almost never catches the ball. LE #418 just received this week. I am working with Stern to get it resolved but no solution yet. Likely a magnet issue. Frustrating.
Play field looks good and game is lots of fun.

Looks like someone put the wrong colored insert in there. All other rescue inserts that I've ever seen are orange on other Jurassic Parks. It's a factory error that makes your game quite unique (Edit: TheGunnett has the same clear rescue insert you do. Not so unique). You could probably put an orange gel between the insert and the LED to make it light up orange.

On mine the ball in the raptor cage is released when the cage goes down after the match play sequence. Any time I hit start on the next game before the match animation is done the ball search kicks in looking for that ball. So if there's a ball in the raptor pen and you're hitting start on the next game before the match animation is done, then I think it's normal for ball search to kick in.

Wow, yeah it looks like they used the wrong color there. All mine are red and I think they're all supposed to be red (or orange, my eyes aren't that great anymore).
I dropped power down on my flippers last night and it's made a HUGE difference for me. I was having a really hard time hitting all shots except the two main ramps. For the tower ramp, I was flipping when the ball got to the tip of the flipper and it would still often miss high toward the left orbit. Lowered the power down to 248 on both lower flippers and 243 on the upper right flipper and all shots are much more consistent for me now.
Quoted from EaglePin:Wow, yeah it looks like they used the wrong color there. All mine are red and I think they're all supposed to be red.
Jeez. The list keeps growing with this playfield. Missing parts, wall overtightened and cutting into playfield, peeled paint, helicopter hitting the ramp, and now the wrong insert?
Is there a fix for this? Would an orange/red bulb help? I'm not sure what to do.

There seems to be several types of errors. On this one (not mine), the big insert of supply drop is red instead of blue...

Man, with all your issues, you should be guaranteed a populated playfield swap.. What has your distributor said about this?

Looks like TheGunnett has the same color insert you do... Wonder if it was an assembly issue that day with a particular installer?

Interesting. Thank you. It is wildly distracting when playing a game. I couldn't even understand how a clear square insert got there, but then I noticed they also use one in the raptor cage. Must have been a mixup.
I just feel like it's more than a QC issue. At some point, that person learned it should be orange but didn't speak up about having done it wrong... What about the person who put the labels on the inserts all day? They didn't notice the word RESCUE was going over a clear when they've done hundreds (thousands) before? What about any of the PF assemblers? Or the final inspection? So many opportunities for someone who sees hundreds of these on a regular basis to notice a glaring issues like that. It's actually a little disappointing.

Agree... I’m sure a lot of it is automated, but it would have gone through many human Stern hands before yours.

C'mon guys, you know the drill.
Unless it is a widespread problem it will not be fixed, but if you ask real nice you may get red nail polish for your white insert...

When my SW had the left Outlane/Inland rollover switches mixed up, Pat Powers wanted all the details to take it into a meeting so they could isolate the source of the error... So hopefully reporting issues like this traces back to the offending QC breakdown...
It seems with so many opportunities to catch these mistakes, there is some obvious rushing and overall lack of attention to detail... Granted it is probably a thankless job, but they definitely need to tighten up the holes in their inspection process
