Quoted from Drac:Your tower looks great. Who makes that one?
That is Mr_Tantrum tower mod
Just to be clear, I make the straw roof for either the OEM Stern tower or the Mezel mod tower, but not the tower part itself.
My game got played a TON by guests this weekend and I ran into my first T-Rex problem in a couple years. Initially, her head was too low to open her jaw and drop the ball on the wireform. I pulled the playfield forward, loosened the nuts on the lower motor mount, moved things around a bit and tightened it back up. Everything seemed fine after a quick test, but the next morning my son was playing and node board 9 went out. He turned the game off. When we rebooted, the system couldn’t find node board 9.
I unplugged the switch at the upper motor with the black/white wires, rebooted, and the node board booted normally again. I did the horizontal centering test and everything seemed good.
Played a test game and noticed that the jaw was never closing. In vertical test mode, pressing the start button opens the jaw but pressing it again does not close it. I can give it a slight manual nudge and it will close but it won’t go on its own.
Does anyone have an idea as to what would be going on here? I’m thinking about pulling the T-Rex to get a better look inside but don’t want to cross that bridge if there’s a less invasive approach.

If your jaw is not closing properly, the rubber could be binding. The coil drives the jaw open, and it is sprung closed. If there is a bind, it doesn't close when it should. Check out Post #8555 and #13862.

Thanks for the ideas. I thought about it some more and came to the possibility that after 6+ hits of nearly continuous play that heat deformation might be possible. The upper motor was definitely hot to the touch.
I put the T-Rex in the up position with its mouth open and pulled both cheeks outward. This let the jaw shut. I tested it a few times and it was able to open/close normally. I’ll see if it holds its shape over the next day or two. If not, I’ll give it a little trim with a razor blade.
Hey pinheads - I have a JP Premium where the T-REX gets his mouth caught on the left ramp habit rail return. Is there a feature adjustment or manual adjustment (behind the backboard) where I can decrease the range of motion the T-REX will move right to left? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

There are calibration software settings that can be altered, but off the top of my head I can't remember if that includes changing the maximum range of motion. Certainly you can adjust the "center" of its left-right movement, which might be enough?

This. But the mouth could also be loose. Make sure the three screws on the lower jaw are all present and everything is snug.
after a year of ownership I've become a wee tired of JP. still think it's the GOAT, but I'm a one pin guy and looking to trade (though I don't even know what for). Located in LA...
I’m officially on my way to being a new member of the club after working out a deal on a new Premium. Can’t wait for her to land!
Is there a separate topic for mods? I have the usuals I get for almost every pin like knocker, shaker, Pingulp, etc. Other than that stuff, what are the best Jeep mods out there. Not seeing anything great on some initial searches.

Two club threads shouldn’t exist. You want to search through here: https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/jurassic-park-stern-2019-owners-club-welcome-to-jurassic-park

It really depends on how tacky you want your game to be lol. Some ppl mod it to look like a jungle. Most can’t play worth sh*&t. JP is a hard game. I prefer to keep the pf as clear of obstructions as possible. Seeing the ball really helps in playing better lol.
Common mods:
HD Glass
Pinstadiums or similar additional lighting
Raptor Pen
TREX Skin (Lior) - unobtanium now
Helicopter (affects gameplay on Prem)
Cliffy CF Flaps for the 2 180 ramps
Barbasol can
Pteranodon for spiral ramp
Footprint Sticker for spiral ramp
Replacement signs
Amber shooter
Topper

Meh, tacky is an opinion not a statement of fact. I have a ton of mods on mine, looks great and I can see the ball just fine.

Congrats, welcome to the club! There’s only one Jeep mod, pretty sure of it, and it’s the movie Jada Jeep mod. Haven’t seen anyone install anything else, of course anything is possible, but why?

I agree, why hasn’t this thread been locked? I thought this was the other thread.

Helicopter (affects gameplay on Prem) actually it doesn't anymore. He made a box that that keeps the sound and scoring.

Quoted from Days:hi, it's the 1:24 scale ? i want to buy one. thanks
I’ve seen the same Jeep listed in 1:24 and 1:32, but it’s the same Jeep. They don’t make it in two sizes, only comes in one. Here’s a link to the one I bought:
My mod collection is growing by the day. I’ll have plenty to work on when my JP lands in a couple weeks!
I’ll definitely be adding some blades. Thoughts on what looks best? The Powerblades from PinGraffix are interesting. Hard to tell how they really look from pics and videos. And the rain effect looks a little odd (all drops in alignment and falling together vs more random).

PinGraffix PowerBlades emit a sound that you can’t get rid of. It’s the power going through the blades to light them. It’s high-pitched and annoying. I wouldn’t recommend them. The regular art version does look nice, though. I eventually went stock, but something with a blue “skyscape” is what I’d recommend, if not stock, to match the back board, like in the 30th AE

Cool, thanks for the input. I posted over there as well.

Maybe Stern has a assembly quide now...
Quoted from JMCFAN:Maybe Stern has a assembly quide now...
I kinda doubt it. They don’t see it as an upgrade kit nor Service Bulletin. Terry at PBL made the kit up after Stern added those parts into production. I suspect we’ll see an early buyer document their install and post it. I ordered a kit and will bang thru it over the next few weeks I am sure.

I need to visit Ace for a couple of nylon lock nuts.... and I may start thru it as well
