Does anyone have their premium powder coated in a color other than orange? I like the orange, but I’m curious what other colors would look like. I’m considering green/black crinkle or just a gloss black with the stern side armor.
Any pics would be great! Even orange ones

Hard to capture, but Robert Stone did this one. Better pics on his powdercoat thread.

Finished the chopper install today, added the light in the cockpit tied to the Helipad light. Looks great!

Got a link for the trees? Lots of options on Amazon but those look like they fit well.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07S23Q1WX/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_0PkQFbTRRRT10

Lots of different sizes to use.

Where did you get the light kit?

http://www.speakerlightkits.com/

I picked up the combo, it has the plate for 5.25.

Some really nice mods, here! I need to get going.

I am a new JP Prem owner and the game has humbled me. But, it is super fun and addicting...after the final drain I find myself thinking, "OK, one more game.....then OK, just one more game...".

Question. The game arrived in terrific condition. I see nothing wrong with the playfield. I did have 2 minor 'issues'.
1) The left flipper would hang up. I shut the power off and it remained stuck. Ok, mechanical. I checked for vertical play and found the flipper to be more snug than the right flipper so I loosened the set-screw and and about a credit card thickness of play and retightened the hex screw. I was certain this would resolve the issue thanks to previous reports here on Pinside. NOPE. Stuck again within 5 minutes. It turns out that the white 'nylon' cam that actuates the switch contact was getting hung up on one of the lower contact switch actuator. Weird. I used the Dremel tool to grind down the cam and no more hang-up...the cam now clears the lower actuator and fully makes correct contact with the upper actuator.

2) Here is my real question. I am finding that some shots to the T-Rex hit her in the nose and come back to me....yet she growls and goes into multi-ball mode. Is this a common nuance with the game or do I need to fiddle with this?

Thanks

The TREX multiball is triggered by the ramp opto. The other TREX modes are triggered by the ball capture (magnet/opto in mouth).

Thanks. So to get the RTREX multi ball...is her mouth supposed to be down and open. This is where I get puzzled. It implies to me that the ball should go in for the 'reward'...Im bouncing off and getting the multiball. So..normal?

It's normal. It's easier to start the first TREX mode (multiball). If you shoot it in the mouth it will catch it but if you rattle the shot and only make it up the ramp partially it'll still start. There is a setting that enables that "easier" behaviour for all TREX modes. This is for folks that somehow can't get the TREX to ever catch the ball.

This new wave of JP deliveries (mine will be here any day now) has got me thinking a little since this is my first NIB pin. Are there any special instructions, considerations, tricks, etc. to opening the box and unpacking a NIB Stern pin?

Pretty simple. Before you sign for a NIB open the top of the box, find the bottom and cut that side down, lay pin down and the cut the strap holding the back box and lift up and make sure everything is good and no damage. Don't sign until inspected, the trucking companies will wait while you do this.

Don’t mind the one of my wife, she’s just showing off her watch she got in the deal

Just curious, when you guys opened your pins up was the Trex lower Jaw under the wire form (T-Rex Even and advanced Paddock)

Mine was locked in there like it was biting the wire form and there was no instructions saying how to get out of there. I had to wiggle and push the spinner out of the way,had a hell of a time getting out of position.

Check for guide rails digging into the playfield art. Seems they have the pooling issue fixed, but this other issue is still prevalent.

That sucks, hopefully no intermittent damage done. Mine had a big piece of black foam holding it in position over the ramp.

EDIT: or maybe it was a zip tie. I forgot now. I know there was something holding it in place.

Haven't seen any reports of this, but I love the image - clearly she wasn't happy about being in a box ... or was very hungry

Yeah I got quite a few games in and no issues with Trex I kind of knew that could not be right, had to loosen the left ramp and still had to force it a bit but no damage. Seems to catch the ball every time it comes near the mouth for the multi ball so I guess I got lucky. And even all the pooling posts I have seen as far as I can tell there is none, I was looking at that before I even signed for it checking every post. Oh well better lucky then good.

Yea, this is one of the best play fields I’ve seen from stern in a long time. Crystal clear, no ribbing. Unfortunately, pooling and chipping happens over a period of time. Let’s hope stern has it straightened out with this batch and moving forward.

Hi guys have been enjoying reading the posts because as of today my nib premium is being delivered. Any must have mods you guys recommend? Love all the speaker lights, this is my first stern game so not familiar with the different light companies. Thanks hope I can contribute to the forum as I get to know the pin.

I've added the following mods which I dig:
- Raptor Fence from mezelmods
- Fossil Sign Covers (there are 3) from mezelmods
- Papo Pterodactyl from amazon
- Side blades available from stern, pingraffix, and tilt...dealer's choice based on what you like the most

I've got a few other mods, but the ones I've listed above are the ones I like the most.

Don't forget to remove the left flap screw on the tower ramp - if the balls will hit it.

Well, mine is scheduled to be delivered today, but here are all of the mods I plan on adding:

Already purchased, and ready to go
- Stern JP topper
- Stern shaker motor
- 5.25" 4 Ohm Kenwood speakers (same as what LE has)
- 8" 4 Ohm Boss cabinet speaker
- Speaker light kit with yellow surrounds and 5.25" speaker mounts
- Pinstadium Omega (whit only with UV flash)
- Lighted flipper buttons
- Titan rings (my custom kit with orange, yellow, and green)
- Set of Cliffy protectors
- Tilt Graphics sideblades (the ones with dinos breaking through the fence)
- Trees
- Florescent plastic protectors for slings and lower return lanes
- Matchbox helicopter for modding the horizontal spinner
- Jurassic park Jeep to replace the OEM truck
- Papo Pteranodon figure
- Safari Farm Goat figure painted to match the one on the movie
- Quite fan for power supply
- A yellow and green dome (not sure which I'll like better) to replace the clear dome by raptor pit (many have talked about it being too bright)
- SD Card and the custom audio/video code
- Pinball Life coil stops for if/when the OEM ones fail

On my wish list
- Stern amber shooting rod (I can't find the Stern version anywhere, but I told my distributor to put me first on the list - he's been told by Stern that they are going to make more.) If this doesn't come to fruition in a month or two, then I'll opt for the Modfather version and add the custom lighting to it.

Things I may design/make on my own
- Custom themed keychain
- Custom coin reject inserts
- Ramp decal with Pteranodon tracks
- Hazard striping
- Raptor guard tower (similar to Mezel)
- Raptor pit fence (similar to Mezel)
- Barbasol can with vials (my own design, but with permission from the originally designer for this game - I actually designed and sold a similar one for DE JP)

Must: Shaker motor ($125), shooter lane protector ($25), Tim's Software update (free)

There are a ton of 'Nice to Have" other mods like those listed in the previous note, but the MUST list is above. Shaker and SDCard are all about the experience, and the protector will protect your playfield in the most likely area that will be damaged in a few dozen games.

I will add to that an external subwoofer.

These would be my top 3 mods along with an external Polk sub and $10 Papo Pteranodon. External volume control/headphone jack is also nice to have on games when you have noisy kids or need to keep the noise down in your gameroom.

BTW, this makes it seem like I'm pretty much guaranteed a "reward", but when I registered it said I would be entered into a drawing and made it sound like it was about the same odds as winning the lottery. Has anyone received a reward, and if so what was it? I don't know if all of this was finished after the initial launch or if they are going to provide awards also for this most recent production run.

3 questions on the T-Rex...

If the ramp opto is not triggered, why would the opto in the trex mouth not trigger the ball capture? Or is there no opto in the mouth?

Is the new bracket for the ramp opto solving the opto issue 100% or are many still having to adjust the opto even with the new bracket?

How does 1.03 Code improve the trex ball capture? I read this on another board but not sure the code update described this improvement.
