that's the first thing I do. I found that a lot of the times, people have installed the coil sleeves backwards, or they think they should sit flush with the end of the coil so they cut them off. It's the least expensive and quickest way to bring flippers, etc. back to life.

be sure to put some solder inside the cannon ball. just feed some thin solder in the little hole. That will make the ball heavier and make it hit the bell better.
