It is also important to adjust the height of the boom balloon bumper. Sometimes the adjustment screw can loosen up and cause the bumper to sit too low which in turn causes air balls.

I used mylar on some of my other games. I had not considered using it here, but I will check to see if any damage is going on here.
I had to drill out the rivets to replace the neon with a uv one. There are pinball rivet kits available, but I used small bolts with lock nuts.
The tub that the cannon switch is mounted to is very weak and if cracked, the switch and/or solenoid will not function properly or not at all. I had to reinforce mine with epoxy and mesh.
I replaced the bell with one of those countertop "ring for help" bells. I stripped out the excess pieces. It's a teeny bit larger than the one in the game and sounds better.
