Received an email from ColorDMD....its finally going to happen!
ColorDMD is excited to unveil development of our new full-color RGB LED displays, The displays will be previewed at the Texas Pinball Festival on March 18-21, in a Cirqus Voltaire pinball machine!
Cirqus Voltaire has long been considered a game untenable by ColorDMD due to the heigh of the LCD display. With the recent introduction of small form factor LED panels, all games are now within our reach!
Compared to LCD screens, the new LED display features 128x32 discrete LEDs, capable of providing high brightness and contrast and more vivid colors. Using the company's fast FPGA processing, the ColorDMD LED display provides comfortable viewing with low power consumption.
Unlike LCD screens which provide uniform dot size and spacing, the discrete LEDs produce a dot size that varies with brightness, resulting in an effect similar to half-toning. Since the displays use a fixed matrix of LEDs, some popular features like DOTSXL and high-resolution upscaling are not possible with LED panels.
Small form factor LED panel technology is still new and the long-term reliability and quality of the LED panels is not yet known. Current LED panels exhibit some visible ghosting (the unintentional lighting of some LEDs) due to stray capacitance on the panel circuit boards, though we expect this may improve in future generations.
ColorDMD will be demonstrating its new full-color LED displays at TPF, and we are planning a pilot production run in April. The new LED displays will be able to utilize the entire library of ColorDMD titles! Pricing is not yet determined, but is expected to be similar to the company's current LCD platform.

That's interesting....mine has a notch on the bottom right about a half inch by two inches to accommodate enough room for the upper mini-playfield to not hit when moving the playfield. This one doesn't have it.
Quoted from ToucanF16:What are gameglades? Do you mean game blades or mirror blades?

Quoted from bobukcat:Notching it was part of the service kit they issued that also included a bracket to help hold that side in. I think most owners didn't want to cut that plastic so most (that I've seen anyway) are not notched.
Thanks for the info...the distributor must have done on my machine then.
Quoted from PinballManiac40:Game blades. I have fat fingers and can't tyoe on my tiny phone.
Mirror blades just look.completely wrong to me on any game.
With a ColorDMD in your CV....think we can give you a pass this time.
