The above video was my first try to use PIN2DMD. Meantime I edited many frames to other colors.

The intention for the color palettes should be the existing artwork on the translite and the advertising flyer.

My coloring job is now on hold, cause I wait for an announced jump to a advanced firmware of the PIN2DMD/STM32 hardware.

Here are my last settings with 6 color palettes and over 80 keyframes. Still many incorrect color switches.

Hopefully the upcoming version has better frame recognition.

In comparision with the PIN2DMD DIY project I must admit: ColorDMD is way over of a simple color replacement method.

They use a complete redesign of the original color sheme. The choosen colors are really great .

The higher costs for a ColorDMD plug&play solution is IMO certainly worth.
