It’s good to have a real club thread.
#11 for me.

Quoted from TomDK:

I dont know if I am welcome in the club ?!
My BBBr is not from Capcom and not from gene ... it is a converted Airborne to a fully working BBBr.
So here is my "homebrew":
[quoted image]
And here with all its friends from Capcom:
[quoted image]

I would say that you are the Capcom expert... really impressive collection. I’m a bit jealous ...
I would want a kingpin so bad but ... I no longer have much hope.

#28 1 year ago
Quoted from Jecco74:

Yes, I was able to drive 5 minutes from my house to pick it up... Very grateful to the seller for letting it go.
Also picked up some expensive wall art with it.
[quoted image]

Wow. This was the IPB so called «proto » with the white insert. Great find !
I also own an IPB one, mine has yellow insert.

here is my last addition to the BBB. I have to say that I've never been a backglass lover but... after seing the result, I think it looked great on this one. Here are some pictures with also differences with the translite. Looks great and even better in real... the color are really vivid and the definition of the print seem better that the original.

Quoted from insight75:

Where did you get the backglass?

I get it from the german forum website: flippermarkt.de by "coos": a really nice and skilled guy

#34 1 year ago
Quoted from gdonovan:

Coos is a great guy, a craftsman.

yeai indeed. It took several days to make it.

Quoted from EZ-Rhino:

Are they available for purchase for folks in the U.S.? Would make really cool wall art until I source a BBB (which probably will take a good while).

best is to get in touch with him and ask. The shipping for me was with fedex and special for really fragile item but it should be ok I guess.

#44 1 year ago
Quoted from TomDK:

Yes .. he is doing a great job !! His boxing is perfect ! I got glasses from him in the past. Shipping was expensive but he builds perfect crates, so shipping overseas with UPS or DHL Express should work. NOT USPS ! If the freight is on its way for several weeks, the chance to damage it is higher !! UPS needs 48 hours .. no long time to play rugby with the boxes !

Looks amazing on Pinball magic Tom !

Quoted from TomDK:

Dancefloor is clear.

Yellow insert was the one planned for production by Capcom bill of material FI.yellow fit better in this area and there are too many clear inserts, like for the main modes for instance.

#54 1 year ago
Quoted from Tommy-dog:

.
The insert in the pop bumper area: http://www.hsapinball.com/HSA_PINBALL/BBBPictures.html#92
IPB used the large white/clear ones on the proto games. Game number 001-009 or 010 if I remember correctly. The original Capcom games used the same color insert.
http://www.hsapinball.com/HSA_PINBALL/BBBPictures.html#172
IPB used the large yellow insert on their regular games, I believe game number 11-192?

Exactly. Only thing is there is a specific serie with a 0 and there are 1 to 10 also so yellow insert is there from the number 2... and 01 to 013 has white pop bumpers insert.

#56 1 year ago
Quoted from Tommy-dog:

Are you sure about this? I could remember Gene telling me that he made like 192 or 194 games in total including the extra parts games. If your correct, then there is like 192 regular games plus 13 more so like 205 games in total? I am almost positive that Gene made less than 200 games all in all.

Yes. BBB 9 has been listed here. BBB 2, 3, 5 has been seen /sold on pinside.
Mine is 11 and there is also a 011 gold. I have a picture somewhere.

I thibk it’s 199: 183 + 16 EXPP

You have more infos here :

Also, for people curious regarding the white insert history, you got infos on this really old thread here :

Just a few more examples, you can see the #5 box, the #11 and #011. My BBB has exactly the same gold plate as the gold #011 with the same message.

Quoted from jake35:

I believe the 011 was the gold trim edition

Yes. The plan was to build only a serie of 10 with brass/gold trim, I think there are around 15.

Quoted from TomDK:

Regular for 4500 Dollars ... and in this days the Euro was very stable and high.
So several european customers got their BBB for around 5000 Euro incl. shipping via airfrigh.
Unbelievable !
Even my homebrew was more expensive

I think the regular was sold at cost (or loss)... this limited edition, with its price (almost twice WTF) was meant to bring back some money.

Quoted from matlynch91:

Fortunate enough to join the club recently with a NIB pin #151. A fellow pinsider had asked to share a few pics so doing that here.
Love how they packed the leg bolts each In a separate bag. Note the date on the newspaper that wa on the box - in the leg tube - thought the story was funny.
A few rubs on the back of the backbox from where the box rubbed off a little paint over time and looks like the tube has come unglued from the base, but all else looks good.
Two questions for the other owners - those that have the EL green armor - any idea what color/paint that is? Also, for the tube dancer - best way to get her out? Undo everything under or just pull the tube off from the top after unhooking the latch?
Happy to be in the club. Happy New Year all![quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

Amazing. I didn’t know there was NiB left. Thanks for the pictures. Regarding the dancer, I can’t help because I didn’t need to remove it till now. It shouldn’t be too hard I guess.

Quoted from MK6PIN:

Yes, just finding this out...ugh. This is my first Capcom, so nothing to swap in...my quest will start.
Thx for the tube dancer, PinBud!!

Welcome to the BBB club Mark ! I hope ypu will enjoy yours. You may post a picture of it.
Did you manage to get extra parts ? It’s a bit like Alien, it’s a long journey.
On my side, i prefer using bulbs than leds because Capcom used a lot of dim effects really nice which looks better with it.

#146 1 year ago

I forgot to mention as well that I found the root cause of my black light neon no more working: I realized after using a multimeter that the relay of the board was no longer providing the 110V to make it work. Then, it appears to me that the issue came from the logic wire which was in lose, that’s the one of the top from the right PCB.

Big thanks to David for the original IPB decals set. I might have enough spare parts to build a second BBB lol.
That was the first tile I saw one for sale so I don’t know if there are too many.

I’ve added the same disco blade as the one of the Proto. It was given to me by the previous owner and not installed and it seems to be the exact same one as the one shown on the Capcom presentation with the original prototype.
The effect is great with the lightning :

Quoted from TomDK:

You should use this decals very fast.
When I build my BBBr 5 years ago I used also original decals from IPC.
The decals were very sensitiv to work with. They had little cracks due the age. The softener outgases with the years.
However, a good buy !! The chepish bad copies from retofurbs are just cheap digital print with no glow effect.[quoted image]

Ok, good to know. thanks for sharing

Just installed purple ring and convolux under plastics. Those looks great and match perfectly with the game.
