Hey guys!

I recently join this really awesome forum after I picked up my first Pinball machine. I have been interested in getting one for myself to fix/get working for a few years now, and finally decided to pull the trigger when I found a local (Minnesota) Williams Blast off for a good deal. It needs some work, and my largest hurdle is getting a new back glass as I purchased it without a back glass.

I generally am a Gamer on PC, and The TurboGrafx 16/CD, but enjoy working on Arcades and now pinballs!

I just wanted to make a post to introduce myself, and kinda say hey to everyone! (Waves)

Feel free to contact me, and I may be making a post here soon as I am having a 3 issues with my Blast off ATM that I am trying to fix before it is 100% working.

Thanks,

~Ryan

Thanks all for the warm welcome! I do agree that apollo scans could work, but apollo doesn't have the balls indicated at the top of the glass like blast off has I guess?

I'm still trying to learn the differences as apollo and blast off are so close to being the same game in many ways it looks like.

Also if anyone has a schematic or service manual for a apollo or blast off, I could use one for sure!

I am going to work on the pin later tonight, I might take a few pics and try to ask some questions here, as I have a relay that is staying powered on once it is turned on( Pop bumper Relay) which makes the pop bumper coil stay on, which makes a noise, and starts heating up the relay.

The other issue I have is getting the ballout switch and the ballout relay to work, making the ball get pushed into the launcher area.

Yeah. Honestly there is a big deal that I have been thinking about going back to pickup honestly... But I am trying to have just 1 that needs work at a time ( I prefer to tinker rather than have someone else fix them)

I can almost taste the great games, but ATM some of the issues with the pin make it nearly unplayable because of the pop bumper issues. I will have to order a new coil for one of the pop bumpers I think, and hopefully can get the relay to stop sticking.

I think Ill make a new thread for that, so its more organized and people don't miss important info because they can't read through walls of text?

Seriously guys, Thank you for the warm welcome. Its always exciting to join a really active forum, and this place seems awesome!

On a side note, if ANY of you guys go to any of these events, or see a Blast off backglass, Please let me know. It seems I may not get one, or have to get an apollo and just make it "Good enough" for now.

Thanks,

~Ryan
