Need some high level thoughts on this one: After my fish tales has been on for a while (like and hour) the speakers begin a popping sound in time with the light show - so its a power issue probably - and the GI lights begin to shimmer a bit - what is wearing out on the game or any ideas what this could be?
Thanks!

No popping except in time with the lights...

Reseat all the ribbon cables and press on the asic chip on the cpu board to ensure it's seated firmly (it will make a crunching sound but that's ok). How do the GI connectors look? Are they beginning to look burnt or have you ever changed them? Could also check the voltages at the test points at startup and when the issue occurs to look for voltage drop. My guess is it's more of an issue with a connection than a failing part given the symptoms though.

I believe you are right. I had similar issues with my FT.

Thanks for the advice - I will try... One of the GI connectors was burnt pretty bad so I re-pinned that connector and a few others that looked rough. Driver and CPU board was re-furbished by Clive at Coin-op so I gotta assume its not the board.... Interestingly, a problem, I thought was fixed has re-emerged - the 3A fuse that controls all the high voltage solenoids keeps popping - sometimes immediately, sometimes after 15 minutes of play. I have re-pinned that connector and visually followed all the wires and inspected the connections - no loose wires...
