Hi all,

My Fathom stopped working.
Only having 6 LED flashes on the MPU board on the start up, so probably a 43V issue.

Problem: when I opened to check the board , here is what I found.
It is very different from the ones I am used to find in Ballys from that era.
Plugs are also quite different...
How am I supposed to change it with the brand new replacements which are completely different?

Looks like the -54 rectifier board. While it is different from the previous versions you are likely more familiar with, it’s not exactly “weird”. I’ve got a Flash Gordon, and I believe it’s got the same board in the bottom of the cabinet. I’m sure there are other games that us it, too.

If you’ve got the -18 or -49 Bally boards, yeah, they won’t work here...but they are indeed a bit more common.

That’s the correct board for fathom.

as mentioned that's the correct rec board, the only different bit is the 4 diodes on the board that rectify the 14.2VAC have been removed and replaced with a bridge rectifier mounted to side on the base plate.

you could try the test points for the voltages?

TP5 is for the 43VDC for your coils, if you don't have that, or near that voltage and the fuse hasn't gone open BR2 may have gone open failing to supply the necessary voltage.

You could also check the AC input to the bridge, it's labelled clearly on the board.
