I have been having a dog garn BLAST trying to improve my score on Gottlieb's Fun Park this week. The game is very challenging and I absolutely love the post-play mechanics as well as the spinners that are impossible to hit. - 6710 so far on the scoreboard........only that was my wife.......i am sadly left in the dust......

Any fellow wedgeheads out there working on a particular game this week?

#2 5 years ago

Only 1475 total points on this recent game the other night, but I did manage to get all 7 numbers and A B C D for top arch rollover special and 6 replays.

My high score book shows 2238 points and 8 replays back in July of 2003.

Then in Dec 2004 i beat that score my old high score the year before in July 03 with 2249 points and 8 replays again, but this time i got all 7 numbers made across the center of the play field. I had 123 & 567 and scored the number 4 on the last ball for the quadruple replays win. Pop, Pop, Pop, Pop!

Making all 7 numbers can take a while for even the seasoned EM player.”

that right there is one sexy picture! what a beautiful playfield

#4 5 years ago

Just got this a week and a half ago. Brand new to EM ownership. Works great, but missing tilt relay. Tested it out by hand and it seems to function, so time for another parts order.

1,315 is my personal best scorewise, I think 8 balls in the backbox is my best there.

My Nick Raschilla’s restored Atlantis. Chasing that yellow light all over the playfield is fun and frustrating all at the same time.... definitely makes me hit the start button over and over!

Getting these two AABs ready for a tournament in 2 weeks. They didn't need any work as they have been bulletproof in like forever (knock on wood).

Subway high score is 13,345
P-A-C high score is 119,470

Love me some wedgeheads!

Lately I've been addicted to my Atlantis. I thought I'd be over it after the honeymoon stage was over, but it really is a brilliant game. I think I've only ever been able to reach the special once in the 6 months I've owned it. 2001 is no slouch either. Another fantastic game. I love Gottlieb drop target games.

Obligatory cat pic as well. Can't resist

Working on High Hand this week. Although the back box has 2 split corners, that repair might take longer.

I am not a wedgehead myself (at least I don't think so) , but I do have a very nice Fun Park like the one you speak of. Great game! Only wedgehead game I have owned that I have decided to keep for the long haul.

Just got home and relaxed for an hour. Then went downstairs into basement game room and played 5 games on my 1961 Show Boat and didn’t do that good...but then the first games I played on my King of Diamonds (1639 points,8 replays and all card targets dropped in backbox)and Bank a Ball (1832 points, 5 replays and all pool ball dropped in backbox) were exciting!
Specials were lit every where lit everywhere. Gotta love them Classic Mid 1960's backglass animated games.

Love my Wedgeheads. Volley, 2001, Atlantis and Top Card are played often. Sing Along will soon be played a lot more.

Ah, yes. The Wedgeheads. Here is a row including a reverse wedgehead at the end. (King Pin that will be for sale soon). Also in middle of restoring another classic reverse WH - Trade Winds. Love the solid feel, and the sound of the tens bell on the mid-60's GTB WH's, and the overall play and flow of the WMS reverse WH's.

Added a wedgehead topper to my High Hand tonight.......

I really like the Team One I got in August. My high score of 114,030 was on Aug 30. I've only come close to that once or twice since, but I keep getting lured back into trying again...

Tonight, some time on my lovely '69 Target Pool. That upper horseshoe layout with slings at top of the playfield is a One More Game feature if ever there was one.

We had a Team One tournament the other night with Pints Pizza and Pinball, my score won the day at 111,040.......you got us all beat man! Grats!

#22 5 years ago

I have AABs and as far as I can remember, Fun Park is actually the only 4 digit AAB W.H. that I had turned over..
Hit the 9/10 when on red and as that was scoring, it went through the achieved score for an aab, and got 3 quick
pops which was like pinball music..

#23 5 years ago

A couple older pics. Team One was replaced with World Fair.
Atlantis is one of the ‘twins’ on IPDB, added by DirtFlipper, which I was lucky enough to pick up a number of years ago.
Jacks Open, Volley and Atlantis compliment each other nicely I think.
Atlantis gets played the most, but Jacks Open would probably be the last to go...and I don’t know why that is.

Here are a few pics of my original, unrestored Fun Park.

About as close to new condition as you will find in any game from the 1960s.

Wow - what a gem; to see a 60's EM in that condition gives me a stiffy.
No flipper drag or banged up cab and a new looking PF. Whats on the meter?
Easy to see why that gets a spot inside the house instead of the garage line-up. Sweet.

#29 5 years ago

For an AAB? hmmmmm!

#30 5 years ago
Quoted from bigdog50:

No meter. The story is the game never worked right so it was put away for years. It still didn't work right when I bought it until I pulled the extra set of keys that were stuck out of the relay bank hanging under the play field. It's worked fine ever since.

I attribute that slight wear in the shooter lane to what might have been the original ball that I removed once I got it. It was in pretty bad shape. You really have to play it to feel what a new game must have felt like in 1968.

This is the kind of game you never want to sell. It was also a game I had been looking for because my daughter and I used go to amusement parks and she would sit and watch those games of skill.

That makes my Fun Park look like a pile of crap. I really wish it wasn’t painted over. Oh well, it’s still a blast to play. The game kicks my ass every time

That's a "Diamond Jack", or "King of Diamonds" cabinet. I wonder if you got it from the same person I got a "Tropic Isle" from years ago. Same yellow paint, and left one side of the cabinet original!

I love playing my Sky Jump with the 7 drop targets. Second time owning this title and this one is sticking around for a long time!

After seeing all these wedgehead pics, I need to find another to park next to SJ!

Fun Park is the biggest sleeper in all of wedgeheads, I've been saying it for years. It blows Fun Land away. They added a major game feature to Fun Park that is totally missing in Fun Land and that is the "red-yellow-green" system that is awesomely controlled by a pop bumper. If green, the SPECIAL awards 500 points. If yellow, the SPECIAL awards one extra ball. If red, the SPECIAL awards TWO extra balls - and a satisfying double knock on the cabinet.

It totally makes/breaks the game and it is a shame Fun Land doesn't have it. This game is my all time favorite and totally blows away Atlantis, Centigrade 37, and El Dorado IMO

I have a nice mint one too, unfortunately I don't have any good pictures of it. Playfield is immaculate. One of the nicest wedgeheads left, I have never seen a playfield so nice in any collection. I still think it's the nicest Fun Park around ever.

pasted_image (resized).pngpasted_image (resized).png

I guess I'll contribute to the wedgehead thread, I don't have pictures of them all because they're all in storage awaiting my arcade to open later this year but I am up to 16 or so all-original wedgeheads now:

More wedgeheads. They are going to look amazing all lined up later this year, I haven't gotten the chance to have them all lined up together in one row yet so I'm looking forward to it. Better yet the public will be welcome 7 days a week to enjoy them too.

Slick Chick as-shown is unrestored and dirty which is now fixed, but don't have any pictures of that either.

First game tonight North Star. I ended up needing just three rollovers for the All Rollover Special and scored 1713 points.

Second game went to my 1961 Show Boat (one of my favorites) and I managed lighting two of the three Specials with over 1300 points.

Third game was Sweet Hearts. During game play I brought the ball back up twice into the playfield (from behind the flippers) when the ball drained down the number 6 card side out. I came up short on a high score, but only need a couple of cards for the All Rollover Special. Lighting two out of the three Specials in the gobble hole... felt good though.

Tomorrow I plan on playing all 25 wedgeheads in the basement gameroom as part of this weeks wedgehead madness!

Vic, You have spoken about this trick but I have never seen it, so I'll need a video or a personal demo when I see you again.

I played Solar City, Super Spin, & Centigrade 37 tonight. I was able to get free games on all but that darn Solar City

I thought you might have seen me demo this "the eye is quicker than the hand trick" the last few times you were here.

I am planning an end of year Saturday pinball gathering soon...be on the lookout for an invite and remind to show the trick on SH.

This topic just might inspire me to set up
a couple of Wedgeheads I have in storage,
only problem is that i really have no more room,
or at least no room that would otherwize tick my wife off, if i took over.
Those games are Dimension and Team One.
Maybe I will just set up one of them temporarily until she says something.
Not wanting to take down any of my presently set up games,
as all my pins are either upstairs or down in the basement
and my old body is getting to the point that any pin moves might kill me.

#48 5 years ago

Sky Jump was the game played mostly tonight. Hard to play with Rocket! on the playfield glass.

I would be HONORED if you at least set up the Team One and posted a few scores! ^_^
As one of the only 2 pins I own and that I am new to pinball completely it would really make my day! I DARE YOU! MUAHAHAHA.
