Quoted from ZNET:

TKO's fun derives more from its novelty as a scarce title, in my opinion.
In contrast, the 3 Osborne titles keep me coming back game after game. . .three of the best wedgeheads, especially Strange World and Blue Note.
Congrats on a phenomenal line-up.

Love Strange World’s gameplay! Most like it because of the artwork, but the gameplay and strategy is often underrated.

Chasing the special on Blue Note and having the sequence reset after was a brilliant game design

Played 16 of my wedgeheads tonight and had some good games. I did manage to turn around the score reels and get a high score of 112,730 on High Hand. Another game that stood out with me and felt great playing it... was Bank a Ball. Scored 8 replays with only a high score of 1210 points.

Nice, Vic. I recently adopted a well loved Flipper Pool and seeing your spiffy Bank-a-Ball is a real treat.

I had a nice Flipper Pool in my collection around 20 years ago and loved the game play of this Gottlieb wedgehead Add a Ball. It isn't a easy game for a player to continue to win free balls on and always a challenge to reset multiple racks of all 15 pool balls.

Bank a Ball plays like the real game of pool called eight ball game or high and low or solids and stripes.

Flipper Pool plays like the real game of pool called 14.1 or straight pool. For sure Flipper Pool is one of the better Add a Ball to own for home use. Enjoy!

I like the way you caught the reflection of the girl in the mirror. Was that on purpose? Always a fun game, I miss mine but have a Kingpin at least. Nice Progressive ruleset.

Nope. Purely accidental.

My first wedgehead that I acquired a couple months ago as a non-working project. Boy did I learn a lot! I enjoy it much more than I ever thought I would!

Hopefully Atlantis, Goldstrike, and Minipool this weekend!

Think I’ll get Bank A Ball back on it's feet again this weekend. Great game from what I remember.

Picked up these two months ago. Very lucky to find them all and from same seller. I think el dorado is my favorite but strange world is pretty cool too.

Finally beat my Central Park real good the other day. Had both specials lit early on in the game and turn the score reels around. I managed 14 replays and just missed getting the maximum 15 replays Gottlieb allowed on their credit wheels in 1966. For sure Central Park is one of the more challenging wedgeheads for even a seasoned player.

I’ve been playing this new (to me) Sky Jump. I find myself changing up the scoring strategy multiple times throughout the game, which to me is the sign of a great game.

Did you buy this game at the York show? I saw it coming in. Didn't think it was for sale until I saw it being taken down. If it was a "Free Fall", it wouldn't have made it past me! Nice game. Nice nab.

#222 4 years ago

Thanks! Yep, that’s the game. It’s been on my bucket list for a while and even though I went with the intentions of buying a woodrail, I couldn’t pass it up. It’s a very clean original and the gameplay is great.

I'm glad you got it. Not very many woodrails or bingos this time. My brother had the "Gypsy Queen" there.

Cooler temperatures reaching the low 30’s this morning and no better place to be than a warm basement filled with EM’s to hang out and play some pinball. I played near 15 games on my 1961 Gottlieb Show Boat before i finally got all 3 specials lit, which isn't easy to do. I also made the double match number feature by making A B C rollovers. I love playing this game!

"North Star". A tremendously beautiful and entrancing Gottlieb classic. I just came one white rollover away from the all rollover special.
This beauty is for sale. I had it prepared for a Pinsider but he had to bail out due to an emergency.
Almost perfect playfield and backglass. Plays fast and strong.
I'd love to be able to keep them all, but just can't.

I picked up a Central Park and just got done shopping it, came out real nice.
I didn't realize it turns out to be a sample game.
It's a tough but enjoyable game, had to put some plays on it to get a free game.

Ok I've got a question for you em gurus, my Central Park came with the apron that's in the photos. The correct one was used on Bowling Queen (7/64), North Star (10/64) , and Central Park (04/66)

So pictured is a very nice one I have (bought at the Allentown Show) to make it correct but I'm wondering since it's a sample game (#21), could they have used the one on the game especially since the long time span between using it prior- 1 1/2 years and I'm wondering why they chose these 3 games to use that apron on?

So, the question is what would do?

#228 4 years ago

The flyer, which usually depicts an image of the sample version, shows the game with the type of card tray used on the production game. It's possible that the one on your game is original, but if your replacement one is in better condition, I'd use it. It's still correct for the game.
For those who don't know the difference; one has a pattern of tiny red diamonds and blue triangles (see the photo of "North Star" in the previous posting), and the other one, (as used on "Ice Revue" and others) has red and blue squares. Many copies of "Ice Revue" have red and green squares; the same tray used on "Bank A Ball".
Now that you're all totally confused....

My first wedge head. Wasn't sure if Williams reverse ones were welcome here but with all the other cool old machines in this thread I figured I'd post anyway. Its a fun game and scoring by points and goals is cool.

Wasn't sure how I would like the layout and gameplay but I give it a solid thumbs up. The trick is to get the wow Target's lit by completing the sequence then you're pretty much set.

Only 3 wedgeheads remain in my line-up of the original 7: Blue Note, Big Hit and Strange World.

Nevertheless, these 3 represent a "spinner" game, a "drop-target" game and a "rollover" game. This diversity makes the absence of the other great titles less painful.

Indeed, college tuition for my daughter has resulted in the reduction of my 50+ game collection to 25 games.

Mine are scattered all over the place except for my dedicated wedgehead room.

1 of the eggheads is JohnTTwo the grand slam is DavidLee and the Gigi belongs to someone…who probably prefers to remain nameless. I’m just babysitting.

It is.

I do a little something extra on all the games I repaint.

The front by the coin door got a mini version of seaweed as seen on the front backbox. I have pics in a restoration thread.
