Not a high score ... but I just set it up and I have it set up too ‘high’ at back and it’s playing too fast and therefore too easy too

I always set all of my wedge heads up so that the posts etc are on the most difficult locations is i like a real challenge - I suspect when I lower the rear legs properly it will balance gameplay much better - I haven’t had it up for years - it is great to have it playing again ... and yes, ohhh how I love hating that number 1 ... but it is fun, if you don’t get it on the plunge shot trying to get the ball up through the top and get the one from the bumpers too!

Just cued up a game on a new B-A-B that I bought from a local Pinsider. What a classic.

I have this Top Card for 6 years now and it finally made downstairs into the basement gameroom where I have a total of 25 wedgeheads. I just completed a clean up and fine tuning PM of this great player and can’t stop playing it.

Top Card has such a nice flow to it. The ball never gets hung up anywhere. It was located in my 2 floor gameroom level along with Count Down, 1978 Playboy and Williams Blue Chip.

I had to let go of my Sure Shot which has been in the line up for near 15 years to bring down the Top Card, but the amount of work involved to bring down the Top Card was substantial and not something I was interested in doing at the moment because I had just finished up 4 months of shopping all 25 wedgeheads in my basement collection.

Before bring down the Top Card I had to fine tune the Sure Shot for it new home next to the Royal Guard I use to have. I also had to bring my Joker Poker in from the garage gameroom to replace where the Top Card was for 6 years.

Once the Top Card was ready to go into the line up I had to move Volley into Sure Shots old spot in the line up. Once Volley was moved to its new location in the line up I moved El dorado in Volley spot. When this took place Top Card went I El dorado's old spot.

All games that moved in the line up had to get leveled,, which is always a chore since I am not as young as I use to be nor, am I as flexible. I did manage to keep all the games in the chronological order I previously had, which added more work.

Anyway...it's been for sure some wedgehead madness for me the last 5 months straight. I will be going back to just playing my games soon again, but right now I am in the middle of doing a full blown restoration on a 1967 Gottlieb Super Score. The Super Score will be going in Joker Poker's old spot in the garage gameroom. Hopefully things will slow down a it after that.

Here in these pictures are the wedgeheads in their new spots in the line up since the recent shuffling of games.

Thanks for the nice comments....

Had my Top card in storage since I picked it up as a project 6 years ago. For some reason it keeps getting pushed back in the restore queue... it's next up for sure! Really fun player, love those on playfield specials & four slingshots.

Top Card is a favorite of mine too. It’s spot in the line up sits perfectly between two other great players..Atlantis and El Dorado in chronological order. It feels good to have it join in with the rest of the wedgehead herd.

I have my Spin a Card in the garage gameroom...after it was in the basement gameroom for 20+ years. I wish I could bring it back down into the basement gameroom with the rest of the wedgeheads.... I know it does have the back box shape like the rest of the wedgeheads, but it’s without doubt a wedgehead to me and great player.

I would have to move the bar out or my Seeburg VL-200. That’s not happening anytime soon.

Not really playing, but I grabbed this nice Jacks Open last month. Gentleman I bought it from said that it stopped working as soon as his buddy changed it from 5-ball play to 3-ball play. Boy... If only it were that simple. Game was dead as a door nail when bought. No lights, no start, nothing. I broke my own rule, and tore my hair out cleaning connectors, instead of starting simple and buzzing out fuses and solenoids first...

Actual cause of problem was the pop bumper solenoid switch was shorted shut, and that damn pop bumper was roasted so badly, I'm surprised it didn't catch fire. There had to have been smoke at the very least. Took me 5 minutes to track down the short in the relay under the playfield. Swallowed by pride, and that'll be the last time I break my rule of checking fuses and solenoids first.

Anyway, played a few test games to make sure it all worked well, and now with this horrible weather, I have an excuse to exile myself to the basement to tear it down the playfield and rebuild it with fresh parts.

Great game. I have the add-a-ball Lucky Hand and it's one of the most addictive games in my collection with the progressive rules set.

Just hanging out on a Saturday night playing my two favorite EMs ( which happen to be the only ones I own....lol), listening to some oldie vinyls. If things get crazy, I may hang out with Steve Austin later

Ive owed a few EM's, kept this the longest and its my only EM, I'd find it pretty hard to sell, It plays so nice & fast, strong flippers/pops & luv smashing the spinner,
AAB feature is very cool also.

Tiger! How is a free ball rewarded? Are there Wows that light in the backglass
that represents the free balls?

Clown target is the Wow on the right side, five yellow ovals when lit represent the added balls.

Tiger's a weird one, add a ball wedgehead outer Space via Europe
I'm ironing the bugs out of a High Hand at the moment. and all the others are up and running.
Just scored a Bally Wiggler on Ebay, which made my day.

I have the others (Bank Shot - Rock Star), but it looks like "Tiger" is actually the first (what I call) true "Wow" AAB machine..
When lit, do those yellow ovals say "Wow' (or anything else), or do they only light yellow like I think you said?
Tiger was an export, but looks like I still do have a machine yet on the Wanted List..

I really like some of those 60s machines, but I will say that Lucky Hand's my best 3" Flipper drop target Wedge head..

El Dorado question?
Have seen orange/ red 25 cent coin door inserts and blue 25 cent coin door inserts. The flyer shows white inserts. All can be seen in the Internet pinball machine data base pictures for El Dorado. Which did they come with? Just curious?

#176 5 years ago

I believe the vinyl inserts with orange/red background and black lettering was from the early 70s. Black background with blue letters mid 70s, eventually new coin door style had red translucent plastic inserts with removable labels.

The image file is floating around recently within the last year or so. I believe it's from the early 60s. Close inspection will show that the clothing and cabinet style would indicate such. Not sure what the original was made from but I did reproduce a couple for my own games just on foam core poster board.

It’s printed on some kind of plastic and comes with a metal frame. Instructions had it hanging over the front edge a little. I didn’t like that so I modified mine just a little to have it sit back about a 1/2”. I had to add wooden blocks under the brackets so it would sit flat.

Nicely done!! Is it affixed with double-sided tape.

Went to a local print shop and had it printed on the poster board the poster board is attached to a wooden base. Since it's basically paper, I just used wood glue! I made two different versions, one just has 3/4 inch plywood and sits on top of this multiplayer game. The second style of Base fits nicely on a wedge head and is secured to the top of the wedge head with a slightly longer screw that would normally hold the back box lever. Just in case players are a little too aggressive it won't fall off.

TKO's fun derives more from its novelty as a scarce title, in my opinion.
In contrast, the 3 Osborne titles keep me coming back game after game. . .three of the best wedgeheads, especially Strange World and Blue Note.

Congrats on a phenomenal line-up.
