I have a Williams Gorgar knocker that I put a new coil sleeve and plunger in. It's very weak sounding. It has a G-23-750-DC in it instead of an SA2-23-850-DC that is called out for. Can I use an SA3-23-850 instead?

Yeah but I believe that replacement coil has more windings which means it’s weaker.

I’ll be following as I rebuilt the knocker in laser cue recently and it’s weak sounding too.

Probably nothing wrong. The Williams SS knockers were indeed quite weak. Maybe because the knocker knocks also at coin insertion.

I like the early Bally knockers, Getting a replay did not go unnoticed!

Really? That’s a bummer. I guess um spoiled by gottlieb knockers and stern knockers. Those bad boys knock!!

Is it possible to remove some windings and make it stronger?

#6 2 years ago

you could remove windings or buy another coil that has less windings?

Gtb's EM knockers were very loud but the early SS ones like in my '80 Black Hole, not so much. They could use a bigger coil... or something.

Panthera is a hammer! Love it. It’s really the only feature in the game that makes me want to play it again.
