Rookie owner seeks advice.

I have owned The Addams Family game for a month now, facing my second repair and first on flippers. I have no previous experience so please bear with me if I am asking stupid questions.

My right flipper suddenly went very weak. When I hold the flipper button and it is up, it is as strong as the other. But if I add resistance in the stroke it just retreats with the weight of the ball.

I read the basic sections of VIDS guide to upgrade flippers and some additional sections and checked the potential culprits. I found the plunger, coil sleeve, coil stop and EOS switch almost brand new, which I guess rules them out? The EOS makes contact just before end of stroke, similar to the left, and I guess that is ok too? What I DID find was some sewere play (rocking 2-3 mm) in the flipper and given the fact that it is strong in end position, I conclude the blame lies on the flipper bushing and I just put in basket to order new ones.

My main question now is: Can I expect adding new flipper bushing solves the problem or is there something else I should check (coil or...)?

I tried a bit of tugging, but the solderings seemed perfect. But thanks for the advice.

Thank you all for great advices. I now tried switching the coils, and along with that switching the weak flipper to the left one, ruling out any mechanical problem (I change the bushings anyway, since there is to much play @pinballmaniac40 ).

Also all mechanical parts looks brand new, since coil sleeve is clean and both coil stop and plunger are in mint condition. So I am going to look at electrical troubleshooting. Thank you for your support @chipscott - it IS a bit scary this first time, but thanks to help from you guys and great guides from VID I am growing more comfortable.

Well, I looked at te Fliptronic board and it seems I found the source to my flipper problems. since I am new to this and my skills are mostly mechanical, I am interested to hear you guys out whether Q9 is likely to be the mother of my flipper problems?

Ah ok, I see. So basicly it doesn't explain my problem? I no doubt Q9 needs to be replaced anyway. But would you say I should look at coil for further investigation?

Well, problem solved. I cabled high power to ground, and it fired. Then I did the same with the socket at the fliptronics board... and it Fired. Then i put the socket back and.... it all worked again.

A bit embarrasing for me, but I learned a lot on electric troubleshooting
