Quoted from mfishell:I've seen several posts regarding the lower right flipper on Batman forever being weak but none really have the answer to fixing it.
I have a Batman Forever that use to have no problem getting the ball up the lower left ramp to load the bat gun. Now it only makes it about 3/4 of the way.
So far I've rebuilt the flipper with new bushing and complete rebuild kit and I've replaced the flipper controller board with a Rottendog board with no change at all.
The only thing I didn't replace when I rebuilt the flippers is the EOS switch because it looked good. I did file the contacts to make sure they were clean.
I've seen suggestions of replacing the coil with a stronger coil but there has always been enough opposition to doing this that I don't want to push it.
They changed flippers half way through production of this machine so it has the Stern flipper assemblies.
Suggestions?
I have had similar issues in other games.
For me it always comes down to EOS. Sometimes taking a file to them can actually make them worse. I use toothy thick paper, like a business card. Add some alcohol and drag it through the switch.
Even with a new EOS switch you have to play with it. Even if it looks like it's making good contact.
I also make sure the flipper switch in the cabinet is making good contact and clean.
Good luck
