Assuming the plunger isn't worn, worn or cracked coil sleeve.
I'd grab a long piece of wire and try jumping one wire from that coil to another coil farther away, towards the rear of the playfield, using the same color wire. Do both sides one at a time.
This may let you know if you have a weak connection along the way, or a weak wire not letting current through good.
