Completely agree. LE marketing is all about the $$ and not this bullshit about offering the buyer a potential to profit. This pro/prem/le marketing strategy can gtfo. Added to this Stern and JJP have released 75th ann and Luci which could be see as additional LEs....
Quoted from Wotto:I said years and years ago on an Australian pinball forum that the LE concept was nothing other then a huge way of ripping consumers off and ALL manufacturers should have just made the best damn game as a ONE MODEL ONLY and we all bought the same bloody thing.....but WE the pinball community fed the greed and manufacturers lapped it up by throwing the cash at unseen games.............and it went wild from that point.
Thanks for saving me typing...
Its disappointing that theres some much BS in pinball. Most of us just want to have fun playing and enjoy each others company, while the rare few only give a shit about the $$
Quoted from jungle:In my opinion many people would have done things differently/better/quicker but highly likely that the product would have been nowhere near as good.
Agreed.. Heres the deal imo:
JJP: Great machines, shit management/marketing
Stern: Shit machines, great management/marketing.
Just need Stern to build WOZ quality machines... well that are reliable and we are set!!
Hey my bad Wotto, your right.... I kinda rushed into that one... lol @ on time and no code updates etc....
Oh when I said shit games I was not at all referring to the designers etc, they have done awesome games with W/B its the dam tight arse approach that shits me... but yeah enough venting..
Quoted from lllvjr:Would be less money back in their pockets if they don't take games. At the time the deposits were taken it was $6500 each, if they sell the 22 games for $8k each they recoupe more of their money right?
Should be able to sell them for 12-14k each
Quoted from TVP:Pretty soon WOZ will have more editions than the New York Times.
But not as many as ACDC
Yeah I was trying so ask, whether any of the 22 games would be bought *again* by the buyers that were expecting them... I guess not...would end up costing them 20,000+
Quoted from Playerone:The idea of the "Rescue Edition" was put to a vote within the WOZ group. It has been unanimously agreed upon to accept Jacks offer of the RE. Important step toward the finish line. At this point JJP have done everything they need to do until receiving further direction from the WOZ group. I estimate we have around a weeks worth of work to do on our end before it's JJP's turn again. Stay tuned.
Scott, are we going to see one on location?
Ironic that this is now the most limited run in terms of le games. Lets hope that pays off when the majority are sold.
Quoted from Playerone:Video came in yesterday as well, showing the games being readied for boxing!
After all the little steps that needed to be taken to reach this point, to actually see the games in a physical form makes it very real and its like "shit! this is gunna happen!"
Reaching this stage only a few months ago seemed like a dream, thanks to Jack and the support form Pinside members it looks like its going to be a very merry Xmas Downunder!!!
How many of the original purchasers will be keeping theirs?
