looks great, nice original idea.
probably a silly question to ask but rather ask now than later does the apron vuk fit under the glass?
looks great guys, nice work
was playing the apple tv minions game with the kids yesterday, is the pinball going to have a collect bananas feature like Congo collecting diamonds?
Quoted from rosh:I had looked into that, but did not really find anyone having done that or recommending it. I had also thought about using talc, but given how it will capture any imperfection in the form, was concerned it would affect it.
would agree with the talc, I know in various industries they use release agents in steel work and concreting so figured maybe something like a smear of light colouress grease or maybe even a silicon spray
Quoted from pinballrockstar:It will be beautiful on our backbox, but next week we have to plot the decals and make some lights in there, etc.
It is a lot of work this neon.image_(resized).jpeg
looks great, very nice
nice work guys...
I like the grey sub playfield, ball might disappear in the black. Maybe a dark purple on the light grey ?
also interested to see how those inserts will sit level as not alot of edge for the insert to sit on, is this just testing insert size?
nice work, will the new pf have art or just a whitewood assembly to check and fine tune remaining parts
looking great
I did notice the new pf is missing the groove for the ball launch, ball trough mech, flippers etc, assuming they will be worked out on the game...
good point re the holes
maybe with the plunger lane that you can carefully file it out with sandpaper around a piece of dowel / broomstick and get the shape before going to far - nice way to expose the grain.
keep up the good work, inspiring...
Quoted from pinballrockstar:Great idea! We will do it exactly that way!
Such a great idea,it could have been my own idea
but I got the idea off you so it was your idea wasn't it.
yes sad that has happened, maybe next time get a local pinhead to get the parts and ship to you.
as for the shooter lane, nice work, you made short work of it - and was only trying to be helpful - which I am sure you saw it from that angle.
look forward to the next fun update and really looking forward to seeing the art.
looking awesome and I too am a little jealous that I don't have a crew of local mates to do a build, must be rewarding but also great motivation.
also one minor concern for the shooter lane (you must think him and his shooter lane) that the scallop won't have any protection so you might see accelerated wear here.
are you guys then going to put water slide word art on the inserts?
cool and currently attending shooterlane-o-fobe anonymous
I knew it would come off wrong lol
love the ideas
nice work on the strip down.
after copying as a template,I would be even tempted to draw up in cad or send to your cnc buddy to draw up and have on file for future reproductions - alot of valuable information there.
your shooter rod needs some modding now
decal something like this for the plunger plate
and a custom shooter rod knob which could be the minion one eyed glass with a eyeball decal in the centre. Happy to design the custom metal shooter knob for you guys and then made by Shapeways and epoxy in a shooter rod.
let me know, free shipping this weekend.
Quoted from lpierrick:Excellent swinks !!
they are not my art designs, just net screen grabs but can design the custom glass shooter knob.
Quoted from pinballrockstar:Dude can you arrange that?
We will totally pay for it.
Never gave the shooter rod attention until now!?
Wow great plan?
I will design the custom shooter knob this weekend for you, chat soon, but you will have to get Mick to work his magic for the eyeball decal.
if basic metal version, my shout towards the project.
Quoted from lpierrick:What is the News about the excellent shooter rod ?
designed, ordered and getting made and departs Shapeways on the 5th April straight to the Amigo's
Quoted from j_m_:swinks:
what is the diameter of the "eye" portion of the shooter rod handle?
I'm thinking that one of these might be a perfect fit for that
hey j_m, 27.3mm id
don't worry I have cringed a few times as run a maintenance trades team for a hospital including all the WH&S system .... but often the WH&S system is over the top
keep up the great work..
that last pic of Jpop looked almost like Chevy Chase with long hair
Quoted from pinballrockstar:Next week we open this very special package from our good friend Swinks!
Mic is making decals this week.
Stay tuned!
yeah it finally arrived, hopefully it meets your hopes and expectations,
nice work tonight guys and like I have said before very inspiring thread and build
just woke up and keen to see the shooter rod - looks great with the decal
- when gluing the new rod in, use the 2 part araldite or equivalent that sets in 5 minutes
- the small hole in the back is to let air out so it doesn't become a shock absorber with the rod wanting to spring back out
- and make sure to take note of the distance between the end of the rod and rear face of the shooter knob where the spring rests against is the same from the old to the new - sorry if you know all this
cheers jady
looking forward to game play vids as well as your new thread (maybe put a link in here as well when it is ready).
and if you need a hand, just yell out or if you want to adopt any ideas go for it.
cheers
I was stoked to be mentioned, had a laugh of how I was mentioned but in the end I didn't do much. Nice work to the Amigos and all that contributed
thanks for the Saturday morning fun and reading that you guys have been providing for a while. You collective efforts on this game has been incredible and just looks fantastic. Gonna watch the videos now and look forward to the next game / thread.
Quoted from pinballrockstar:You are kidding me right? Are we in?
Cause i am so gonna be like that little girl on you tube that gets to go to disneyland!
recognition is awesome - now you just need to add some data
have fun at the show guys.. look forward to some show photos
do they still have the UFO (Evoluon) at Eindhoven? I think it was Philips in the 80's when I went there.
thanks for sharing and the Evuluon is how I remembered it, cool place for a pinball show and awesome that you are getting so much interest.
any signs of the dutch built Timeshock game?
Thanks for sharing the show guys, such a cool location and awesome amount of machines, would love to go one year when they have it there again.
