Wow! That is actually a supercool theme?
Blues brothers pinball!
Making a side note... We have another world cup soccer to retheme...so...

So today we cut a slot in the subway ramp

image.jpg

#412 4 years ago

And we had this really cool switch hanging around

image.jpg

#413 4 years ago

It was broken so we repaired it with a nail

image.jpg

#414 4 years ago

We mounted the switch onto the subway

image.jpg

#416 4 years ago

There.. That will work

#417 4 years ago

Check this out! Quite pleased with this..

#418 4 years ago

Wow.
You guys are amazing.

#419 4 years ago

Another angle with main machine tune!

#420 4 years ago

Great job guys! Maybe You could turn it into a Minions Family!

#421 4 years ago

So today we are pimping the plunger lane,we bought a nice usa auto plunger assembly, shipping and tax was absolutely horrible, but it is here.
Lets make some room for the thing

image_(resized).jpg

image_(resized).jpg

#422 4 years ago

Yup, that is coming together nicely.
Like cirqus voltaire,we want to manually plunge, but at the same time have an autoshooter.
If you write code for it, you can keep plunging balls for like 30 seconds during multiball, stuff like that don't work with a manual plunger!

image_(resized).jpg

image_(resized).jpg

image_(resized).jpg

#423 4 years ago

Now isn't that beautiful..soldered the plungerlane switch to the wiring, next step is to give the coil some juice!

image_(resized).jpg

image_(resized).jpg

#424 4 years ago

And let's not forget!

image_(resized).jpg

#425 4 years ago

Sorry guys, but you've been beaten.......

image_(resized).jpeg

#426 4 years ago

That's the equivalent to Sterns pro edition. These guys are building the LE edition.

Waiting for my Minions Pinball fix

#430 4 years ago
Quoted from Fairground:

Waiting for my Minions Pinball fix

Mission pinball updated their software to version 0.21.
It reguires to rewrite our code, nothing works anymore.
Quite a shock actually,it was weeks of work and writing near 2000 lines.
But the new version has cool features we really need.
Like shot and shot groups and the ball count has been debugged,we need to step up.
So if you guys want an update picture, bare with us , here it is:

Hey guys, Brian from Mission Pinball here. Hopefully the changes from 0.20 to 0.21 aren't too much pain? (Or maybe you're on an older version since you mentioned the shots and shot groups which changed from 0.19 to 0.20?) Let me know if I can help or if you want to send me your config files to migrate. v0.21 is nice though.. adds high score, tilt, credits, RGB DMD support...

BTW the next version (which will probably be out in March and called v.30 since it will require Python 3) will have lots of major changes too (for the media controller only) as we move off of Pygame and onto Kivy. However I think once that's done, hopefully all the "major" config file changes will be behind us.

Awesome project though.. let us know if we can help!

#432 4 years ago

Still my most looked forward to read/view thread. Fantastic the way this is coming along. Great shots and the flow seems good. Really cool. Keep going.

#433 4 years ago

This is great!
You guys are going to need a rubber behind that drop target bank!

With that version numbering, clearly still beta (or even alpha), so those types of things are not to be totally unexpected. You should probably keep track of the changes/fixes you had to do and let Brian know, so in the future he can try to highlight things that might break when they do a release. Or at least let others know who have not yet done this latest upgrade. Not sure if he had release notes that would have warned you. Plus it probably gives you a chance to 'change' things that you have been warning to change.

Hi there Brian,we ran .19.2 version and we need to change a lot. so i decided to start over,it got a bit blurry what the hickups were.
But it is coming along fine.

Thank you so much for the kind words, more motivating than you might think!

Yup that is not finished yet,we might install a metal wall behind it,it indeed hangs balls...sharp eye!

Yeah we know...we are building our machine at the same time MPF is developing this...still sucks to rewrite the entire thing, but it is refreshning too

Today we started on drilling some inserts, first moving some stuff about...

image_(resized).jpg

#437 4 years ago

We need some game matrix lamps and one big one shaped like a banana for the wizard mode.

image_(resized).jpg

#438 4 years ago

Drawing some pencil lines and drilling the first insert

image_(resized).jpg

image_(resized).jpg

#439 4 years ago

Then the rest, tricky work...

image_(resized).jpg

image_(resized).jpg

image_(resized).jpg

#440 4 years ago

Then drill the holes for the lights to shine through,a bit smaller , else your insert falls through the playfield

image_(resized).jpg

#441 4 years ago

Why do this with particle board?

#442 4 years ago

They are prototyping the machine playfield. It is cheap, easy to work with, etc.

Once the playfield is closer to complete design, I think they'll re-build with a more permanent material.

Yup,just like that

Since the main matrix lamp board is complicated with diodes and stuff, we made brackets and we solder wires directly to the lamp socket spots,we could not figure out how an 11 wire plug, can activate 21 individual lamps.
So we went the easy way!

so you are basically running the wires from that board to the actual lamp locations?

#446 4 years ago

Yes and it works excellent, this board we modified for the banana shaped insert

Drilling this hole was a bit tricky, but it is a fun one to stick a banana decal on
