Quoted from pinballrockstar:But man that was scary!
I was holding my breathe watching each pic of you cutting Gru's back
Some brave hands there, great work cutout looks flawless
Goodnight Amigos!
With the protector on that looks STUNNING, you guys should be feeling real proud tonight, Amazing work!
Quoted from pinballrockstar:Welded on the flasher
Err... dumb question... isn't the "tab" on a lamp socket a live part of the circuit, or am I just used to really old lamp sockets where wires are soldered to the tabs?
between the vinyl cutter to make insert text, and the polycarbonate protector (versus trying to align an overlay with text, and then clearcoating), it's not a bad way to go!

No i checked with my multimeter,we are cool...but thanks for thinking about it,warn us when we do stupid.
We already blew a p-roc board(man did it smoke!)

It will flow like crazy i hope and will stay in nice shape.no dimples!!
And if Stern has trouble with playfields and clearcoat, how are we going to pull it off?!
No,we thought this well true,we know our limits Toyotaboy..we are just a bunch of dudes..
Like you say,it's not a bad way to go..
Playfields are rocket science and it is too hard for us..this was the best we could make it.
If the protector gets crappy,we simply replace it..no big deal.
Hot damn! I should have saved my reaction gif for after the Gru cut and then the removal of the protector film. I practically almost fell backwards in my chair, same as the gif
Incredible work.
Hi Amigos, love this thread! It's a highlight every Friday and it's awesome to see everything coming together.
I came across this post about custom playfield protectors and though it might be helpful to you. Basically this guy's idea was to just cover the whole playfield and lock the protector down. Afterwards he found out that the heat from the bulbs expands the plastic and causes pillowing. The solution is to make sure the protector floats and can expand a little.

Oh thanks! We can learn from failure, gonna watch that
Well firstly WOW and WOW. That playfield has come up soooooo nice.
I am going to go with the grey just because of the contrast. The black is well too much black. But hey it's personal opinion so I'm sure whatever you go with will look great. Did I mention WOW. Those insert decal are sweet.
I've been away for 2 weeks and just caught up now.
Some of those cuts must have been nerve racking, but that new playfield....well I'm speechless. So cool guys.
Absolutely awesome update.
You guys are doing an excellent job on this thing- thanks for the consistent Friday posts.
I would go with the black. I feel like it's less distracting and looks awesome. Not sure how you plan to do the lights but if the lights above go out when the subway lights go on, I think it will be easy enough to see. That's how my SF2 works and I'm happy with it.
Keep up the good work!
Quoted from pinballrockstar:Some more distance for a better feel of the look..tell us what you think guys.
I would go with black, that way you can hide or highlight the subway at your choice through the game and modes coded to lighting, so if you want the subway to be hidden lighting can be off, when the subway is active or being used turn the GI for it on for a little light show and fan fare, just an idea
Ok so we roll with your votes guys,a black bet it will be ..pinside has spoken
Thanks for your input!
Real cool
Quoted from Travish:we are all expecting overtime now
Hey hey hey!
I spray painted this pillar/post for the upper playfield on saturday!?
Overtime!
Quoted from Wolfmarsh:As always, one of my favorite threads. Keep up the great work.
Thanks, next week we populate the playfield,be there or be square!
Quoted from labnip:i resemble that comment

Even Elvira is now being used as a table
Oh the pinmanity!!!
Quoted from Mbecker:I vote black too .. oh wait did I miss the deadline lol -- that's gonna look sweet!!
Oh, and if you could make the logo light up when on the lower playfield that would be cool.
Quoted from BorgDog:Oh, and if you could make the logo light up when on the lower playfield that would be cool.
Hm,that is a cool idea..

Interesting, you guys are starting to live like minions. Even your skin tones are taking on a yellowish glow and you are starting to sound funny in your video's. Kind of like how pet owners start to resemble their pets.
Looking forward to the Friday updates.
