The final result looks stunning,we made a connector so the neon is easy to detach if needed.
What a great friday!

That backbox is fantastic. You guys are making this stuff look easy

Thanks,we are going to add a lot to the backbox, it will also have a rotating moon on the right side etc.
We want to put in a lot of hours to make it extremely awesome.
And it is fun to see something like a sheet of plastic become a neon sign.
It is nowhere near easy, but if you succeed,it just feels great

This is the machine up to this point, nice attraction mode and the new neon sign topper.
A few insert lights need contact adjusting, just don't look at them.

#662 8 years ago

Great updates again guys. Love that you will tackle anything and work out how to get it done.
I too was relieved that you didn't blow yourselves up with that gas heater. Who would finish it then? Hope Mic's finger is ok

You must feel a great sense of achievement and what really shows is you are having fun. Which is what it should be. Fantastic thread and keep it up. Going to put up a link on AA in Australia for those that might be missing it.

That is actually the correct path to follow..imagine what you want something to look like and then learn how to make it.
Don't build things because you have a certain material or shape laying around.
Creating things from scratch is sooo rewarding.

Looks great guy's can"t wait to play.
Any playfield graphics to show?
Are you going to print the playfield or use a sticker like me, or make your one color cut out plastic stensel stickers like the cabinet?.

#669 8 years ago

It is fridaaaay!!
First we play some mario bros today,to shake off a week of working!!

image_(resized).jpegimage_(resized).jpeg

#670 8 years ago

I have a rather large house, so i am starting an 80's cave in this section of the house, push 2 buttons and in 4 seconds you are playing mario!
Try that with a Wii with an lcd!

#679 8 years ago

Next up is a real crappy job..that plywood needs to come off and the prints need to be mounted in gru's house..rough..
But we can finally mount these p-roc brackets!

image_(resized).jpegimage_(resized).jpeg

#680 8 years ago

It is hard to come up with a plan

image_(resized).jpegimage_(resized).jpeg

#681 8 years ago

I am in charge of making the hinges, for the backbox-print-mounting-board.

image_(resized).jpegimage_(resized).jpeg

image_(resized).jpegimage_(resized).jpeg

#689 8 years ago

Dick and mic are struggling while i am casually making a picture

image_(resized).jpegimage_(resized).jpeg

#690 8 years ago

Yeah! Like a pro!

image_(resized).jpegimage_(resized).jpeg

#691 8 years ago

Now the other hinges need to be attached to gru's house

image_(resized).jpegimage_(resized).jpeg

#692 8 years ago

Finally...the backbox folds Perfect and we can lower the back board to service the prints.

Time to get creative!
Mic invented the sandpaper shingles for our roof and they look terriffic!

image_(resized).jpegimage_(resized).jpeg

image_(resized).jpegimage_(resized).jpeg

image_(resized).jpegimage_(resized).jpeg

#695 8 years ago

Quite labour intensive actually( or as pinball amigos say:"labora intensivo")

#696 8 years ago

In the meantime i am busy doing the mech for the prototype moon, the plan is to have it rotating slowly above gru's house with a spotlight on it(a little hole inbetween shingles in the roof where the beam comes thru) and every rotation the logo on the moon appears in the spotlight.
I actually stole my son's disco globe for the motor is low rpm and perfect for the job.
He is not into disco anyways.

image_(resized).jpegimage_(resized).jpeg

#697 8 years ago

Here it is lol

image_(resized).jpegimage_(resized).jpeg

#698 8 years ago

The motor will be housed in the roof extension and an aluminium axle will stick out about 2.5 inches

image_(resized).jpegimage_(resized).jpeg

image_(resized).jpegimage_(resized).jpeg

image_(resized).jpegimage_(resized).jpeg

#699 8 years ago

A littlebit of a struggle to connect the acl to the motor, but it is alined nicely now

image_(resized).jpegimage_(resized).jpeg

image_(resized).jpegimage_(resized).jpeg

#700 8 years ago
