Has this game been converted to correct voltage? Is the smell from transformer ?

Usually if you send the wrong voltage into the primary side of the transformer it will burn up it may take awhile and it will stink awfully bad as insulation burns off windings. You could disconnect the secondary of transformer record voltages at pins then correct your jumpers and recheck voltages
If you look at transformer you'll see that the primary side of transformer goes to metal power box where jumpers and service outlet reside. The secondary side the transformer has 3 or 4 molex plugs if you get a WPC schematic it shows what voltage you should have at the connector these voltages will be a little high with no load .
