Working on a client's WCS.
The original MPU board had nearly all of the resistors for the switch matrix blown off the board and burnt to a crisp.
Replaced the MPU with a rottendog using the original ASIC, ROM, and security chip.
The board will turn on with the top LED solid, the middle LED off, and the bottom LED solid.
I've rebuilt the driver board because it had a blown bridge or 3, and the controlled lamps fuse keeps blowing. New caps, new bridges.
I have the lamp connectors unplugged for now until I solve that issue.
My question is, since the middle LED will not light at all, where is the watchdog circuit initiated from? Does it come from the MPU board itself? Or is this something that could be caused by the driver board?
Also, is there a way to bench test the new MPU board and get the LEDs to act normal?
On a side note... the coindoor has the coil interlock swich, but no bracket for it to actually close the switch. If I reach in and push the switch, every coil locks on at once until I let go of the switch. Assuming this is due to the MPU not booting properly.
