I'll bet its a bridge rectifier issue.
Had the same thing happen on my old flintstones.
One of the bridge rectifiers under the heat sink gave out and caused the error.
I'd start your diagnosis there.
Pinwiki has a section on this situation.
Unlikely it's a bridge rectifier. The CPU throws up this message when it can't see that switch 24 (actually a diode--so it's always closed) and presumes there is not 12 volts to the matrix. See the following guide.

I got this error on my Funhouse when my kids were playing it. Turned out to be a short in one of the diodes in the bridge rectifier.
