I haven't had time to do much investigating on my end (yet), but yesterday I bumped settings from Factory to Hard. Within 10 seconds of my first game, the game freaked out (a barrage of callouts indicating switch hits, 2 balls ejected from the trough into shooter lane, Color DMD went dark, and flippers stopped working).

I shut the game down and turned it back on. Color DMD still dark and some GI is out. The game appears to boot though (starts up, bongs once, then the insert lights come on and go into attract mode). The start button does not work... the internal menu controls do work (at least I can hear myself scrolling through menu controls when buttons are pressed).

Upon Boot, the MPU board lights are: bottom solid, middle constant flash, top off.

I'm confused... this is a game with a solid operating history. Was working fine yesterday until I changed settings.

Anyone have any thoughts?

Quoted from barakandl:

Settings change most likely a coincidence and some other kind of fault is going on. You can remove the batteries, wait a few minutes for the caps to drain out and the ram to scramble, then power back up to get a boot to factory settings to rule out corrupted ram contents causing it.
Look for battery damage, blown fuses, and reseating/replacing the ribbon cables is a good non that invasive starting point

Roger that.

I did a visual inspection of the boards. Didn’t see anything that appears to be blown. Also, did reseat cables.

Those were the two things I did.

I’ll pull batteries and then Start digging through fuses

Pulled and checked every fuse.

Nothin.

Then F115 caught my eye... forgot about it. It looked perfect... but was blown. Game is back and running 100%

A friend (and former owner of the game) had suggested that to be the case. Wonder if I could bump that fuse up to 3.5A?

Quoted from barakandl:

this picture shows F115 to be 0.75a fast.

3.5a would be over fused. if it blows again maybe try a slow fuse or 1a fast fuse.

Ok. So far so good. More than likely it was just that fuses’ time to go
