My WCS 94 just started while playing not registering goals. When you shoot a goal nothing happens or when you enter the final draw/tv scoop. It acts like the ball has gone missing and with eventually go into ball search mode and kick the ball out. Usually when it does that it enters a tv mode or a striker reward. This happened earlier and I checked the 12v fuse f116 i believe and it was good (a suggestion from my pinball tech). I then used alcohol and cleaned the optos by the goalie in the VUK and voila the game worked fine for several hours. Then during a game I shot the goal and poof the issue was back. My problem seems to be an obvious opto issue. should i replace the two optos beside the goalie since cleaning them seemed to fix it momentarily. I did also find that one of the screws that holds the opto plate on the bracket for the VUK was missing. The opto bracket did wiggle a little, maybe that causes the optos to not line up?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

OK I found the issue last night. The ground and the 12v wires were loose in the connector on the opto board on the underside of the playfield. I lifted up the playfield and saw that the red led light was not on the the board and I touched the connector and it was intermittent. I found the problem and made sure I had a good connection and the optos came on and were testing fine. Game plays normally now.

Now if only I could make the final draw easier to hit. LOL
