I’m re-decaling my BSD and touching up the cabinet before I add the decals.

It seems that when my cabinet was originally built they used some chopped up cabinet scraps from a ?whitewater? Was this common?

Now that I’m refinishing, should I leave them ‘as-is’, or sand ‘me down and/or repaint?

They used scrap cabs all the time. If u like it leave it if not sand it off.

Yes. Pinball and video games.

Up to you.

I think it looks cool and adds character. I would tape over and paint around it. Someone else got the eyes, nose or mouth of the giant on WW. You got a thumb!

I’d keep it if possible. Gives it some charm.

I'd keep it for sure. Part of the history.

Yep, wood was reused like that in places where it wouldn't be seen from the outside. There's been a number of examples folks have posted where this happened in various titles. It doesn't seem to have been incredibly common, but I think most people who have been buying and selling pins for a while have probably encountered at least one or two examples.

Personally, I'd leave it it as-is.

Leave it. It's a better conversation piece.

I think you should leave it!

The inside of my Mortal Kombat 4 cab has Medieval Madness printed on it. Pretty cool.

Thanks for the responses. I like it and was planning to leave it 'as-is'...just wanted some second opinions.

My Cruisin Exotica has MM on the bottom (unseen).

My AFM has The cashbox cross brace made from an AFM cab. I kept it when I did a complete restore. Second time I had run across reused cab but first where the game was the same

Yep, cabinet materials got pretty weird from time to time.

Just look at the "Brick Bottom" cabinets used on many Firepower machines.

I haven't really tried to identify it, but our Escape from the Lost World has printing from a different game on the inside as well.

I also have a Domino Man (video) cabinet that has, I think, Galaga artwork on the front...
