I agree SuperBee.
Dan, I was not trying to be a PITA, and we had some great conversations in Allentown that helped solidify my decision on buying this panel. The few issues I brought up were very minor issues and under the circumstances with you trying to get this product to market, and ready for the show, are just a blip on the radar. Having said that, you have handled this with exceptional customer service and top notch support, exceeding anything that could be expected. I really appreciate all of your help and wish that you have a very successful run. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help you along the way.
Thanks!

Yes a lot of of parts. But very simple to install. This process on the Panels will get even simpler in near future! I will be starting a you tube link for installation videos on all of our mods, panels, and plasma's!!

It was great speaking with you at Allentown and seeing these products in person. They look even better in person than on line.
Hope Pinfest was a great show for you - I'd say you had some of the most innovative products at the show!
Here is a video of a bit of everything from Allentown from Pinball Supernova starting at 5:28

I installed mine tonight, couldn't power it up as I need another connector for the relay, but the install went fairly simple. Here is a couple pics, color dmd is also set too low in the pics, moved it up after trying to set panel in back box. So don't copy what I did in these pictures.

How does it stay in place without the brackets? I bought two of these and neither one came with the brackets. Also, what is the small block of wood for?

I'm not sure what you mean about the ColorDMD but I see you decided to screw in the H channel.

I did not install mine, I'm waiting for the brackets. PM Dan, he said he will send the brackets.
The block of wood is for the little PC board, if you decide to mount it you can use that block of wood. I think they left that out of the instructions for the light up panel but look at the instructions for the plasma pop bumpers, it's in there...

There are 2 spots for the color dmd, I didn't pay attention to where it was before I took it off. Had it in the lower holes, just moved it to the upper ones. And yeah, I put 2 small screws in the h-channel to keep it in place. I used the small ones normally used under the playfields.
I will also need the brackets.
I installed mine and I fabricated a few latches until I get mine from Dan but I have no power on the panel so I won't bother to post any pics.
The H channel is fine without the screws.
I'll have to PM Dan, hopefully it's a minor installation error on my part but there is power from my service outlet (tested it) but when I plugged into the PC board the red led light comes on and the panel is not lighting up.
Quoted from Xtraball:You gotta admit, that looks friggin sweet!
You bet and the color dmd just looks sooooooo perfect with it.

That with the color DMD is cherry!!! We have a winner
Quoted from Xtraball:You gotta admit, that looks friggin sweet!
Yes this does look great! Can't wait to see more pictures from others! Thank you for your purchase! Again sorry for the inconvenience!
Quoted from tiltmonster:Fixed, this was broken off so I had to solder it back... it explains why it was not lighting up.
Here is a photo of it installed, the remote is crazy and I have to figure out how to change the colors.
That is awesome! Thanks for being the pioneer and showing the way to the rest of us.

He has to invest in a wireless mic, the audio is terrible.

Oh man that looks great. I just gotta find time to put mine on.
Sorry I have not replied in a couple of weeks. We sold about 50 boards at Allentown, we had a couple of other issues we were working out:
1. Issue with sanding. We have to do a lot of sanding and we were doing that manually. Because we were doing it manually, we were not getting a consistent product, and some times we were sanding to deep, causing other issues. Not sanding deep enough, and they would not fit in your game. These may not sound like an issue, but it was causing us some problems.
We now have a system in place so it will be exactly the same depth of sanding on every board.
2. The speaker grill size. This is a give and take. The larger we make the speaker grill, the more shadows you will see on the lighted speaker panel. The smaller the size of the metal speaker grills, the more of a chance your plastic panel won't line up well with the speaker grills. After looking at over a hundred plastic speaker panels, we find that the speaker holes and DMD holes can be off by nearly as much as 1/8" from other boards. Even when the games were made, the parts were sourced from different locations, giving a slight variation on the positions of speaker holes and DMD.
When we installed many, we found the DMD was not much of a problem. Some placement of the holes in the plastic speaker panels we did not like. the fix, we have made the speaker grill 1/10" larger, we feel this makes a better appearance. On boards that are being construction now not only are we making the metal speaker grill 1/10th inch larger, but we have made the area the the speaker grill fits into 1/10" larger also in additional to the 1/10th inch on the speaker grill. So if your grills are a little off, you will be able to move them.
3. This is the problem that really slowed us down. It was a simple problem in hind site, but of course we did not look in the proper place for a while. We had 4% of our boards that when you went to white, had a shade of pink. We were not sure what was causing it. In doing research, we found not enough power could be a possible cause for this. We went through many power supplies, and remote controllers and other issues. Finally we discover the problem was from one of our supplier of our LED's. That suppliers lights had a slight pink to it. Unfortunately the pinkish LED's are the only backstock of LED's for our boards, so production is being stopped for another week as we find a better supply of lights.
We have had no problems with the relay that normally a little movement on the wire harness did not fix.
My plan this week is to put a basic board, deluxe board and ultimate board in the most popular games, Twilight Zone, Addams Family, Terminator 2, Fish Tales, Creature from the black lagoon, TOM and Getaway. I have all of those game here. Light sources can be hard to photograph, but I think I am no able to take some good pictures that will show off the product. After that, I will start contact everyone that has either posted here, or has emailed me with interest in purchasing. Once I take care of those people, I will start a new post and list on here. If you are interested in a board, email me, and I will put you in order.
Plasma pop bumpers. At Allentown, people were amazed. We have not had any issues on the plasma's at all, but we are trying to upgrade the procedure on manufacturing.
Nearly all people purchased the plasma's to match the colors of the original pop bumpers in the game. Sold 22 sets of plasma's for either TAF or TZ. Those were the 2 games that had plasma's on display at the show. We sold 5 other sets of other colors.
We sold the plasma's at $99.99 each, and I don't see that price changing.
I will give an update in the next couple of days on this thread of the option for a few people to purchase some plasma at a sale price in exchange for installed pictures and videos.
Thanks
Dan
I finally got a chance to stop Dealing with non-working games today and installed the lit panel into my CFTBL
I have to say it was a -lot- more work Than I expected but the majority of that was removing the damn double-sided tape! Once that was off things went pretty fast.
Couple of things, Dan:
1) I did not get the new brackets in my pack, how do I get those?
2) i dont know if i missed it, but there are no steps for installing the h channel and the actual plastic panel. Should I screw in the h channel? How do I fix the panel to the new backing (or should I?)
3) my extension cable for the power supply did not fit the port on the relay board, so I had to plug in the power directly, but it's just hanging out of the game; obviously I can't leave it like this
4) in general I think the instructions need to be polished up; I'm not sure a person less experienced with all the dos and donts of pinball repair would be able to figure it all out
Otherwise the pictures speak for themselves!
5) When I first installed the panel, it was set to "flash every 5ms to a new color as brightly as possible" and I almost lost an eye from staring directly at it! But once I dialed it back down a bit, it looks amazing. The remote even allows you to program your own little (very basic) settings
pictures speak for themselves!!
Above panel, deluxe panel is $259.99.
Ultimate panel, colored panel and colored speakers. $299.99
Brightest White
Dimmest White
Light Yellow - These panels are cool white, and if you want a slight yellow for warm white, this is a good setting.
Yellow- If you want a sunset color on your panel
Yellow - full game, color matches rest of game perfect.

I will post pictures such as this for other games.
Dan
The games with panels look like they should have come from the factory like that. The BSD and GB look blah compared to the games without your panels.
Quoted from MustangPaul:The games with panels look like they should have come from the factory like that. The BSD and GB look blah compared to the games without your panels.
I have to agree - they really do look like they were supposed to be like that all along. TAF, TZ and CFTBL in particular are just knockouts.

Thanks, all 3 of you guys have given me much support through all of this.
Yes when we started working on these a long, long, long time ago, we felt the same way. It matches the rest of the game, the translite lights up, the playfield lights up, but the games are dead in the middle.
I look at the pictures of game rooms thread, and see picture after picture of great looking rows of games, but they don't look complete in the middle.
We have not found a game that does not look better with the speaker area lit up.
Creature is an excellent example of how a slight color change can change the look and feel of the entire game.
We are ready to start filling orders. We did a few upgrades after Allentown, and are very, very pleased with the boards now.
I will have the new board in Fish Tales soon, working on games now.
Thanbks
Dan
