    Quoted from dung:

Actually, what I was told was take the check or the deal is off. I took the check. I wasn't told the deal was take the check, cash it, and refund the difference.
You guys put a lot of emphasis on my taking the check as some proof of guilt. You put no thought that I was told to take the check or no deal. Seller wrote the check, I did not.

You're being a stickler to a fault. Not a good thing to do...

Full disclosure - no horse in this race as I know neither party.

    Quoted from Frax:

Because husbands NEVER bend the truth when talking to their wives, AMIRITE?!

    Can I get an AMEN!!!

    Quoted from Whysnow:

I am not sure what you do for work, but i regularly give out huge credits and even take loses when i screw up and make a mistake. Heck, if i have a disgruntled employee that treats a customer like crap then i plan to pay for it to keep the businesses good name intact and know that i will also likely win more customers from those actions in the future. It pays dividends to treat your customers well, even when they make the mistake... Esp when you make the mistake.

Would someone please refresh my memory - who's the customer in this situation?

    Quoted from CrazyLevi:

Profit in the retail pinball biz is RAZOR THIN.

I assure you sir, it is - a - wafer thin.
