Stern boards are sent to Rockford Silk Screen Process for digital printing, and then are sent to an automotive clear coating supplier in Crystal Lake, IL. Mirco does not make Stern playfields. I am not sure if Stern still usees them for some volume, but they used to have the Fun Company in Wisconsin make their boards and cabinets, but are doing much, if not all the wood routing and insert placement on the PFs in their own factory. It is just coincidental that both companies had suppliers that had coating issues at the same time.
