    Hello Pinheads,
With Warhammer 40k being a loved game with an incredible amount of lore, characters, gameplay, and a seriously hardcore fanbase. I thought that I would take it upon myself to make a homebrew with such an awesome amount of content. With Amazon announcing that they will be making a Warhammer live action series staring Henry Cavil, I know Warhammer is going to have a lot more spotlight, though there has been many videogames about the series such as Dawn of War and Warhammer 40,000: Darktide. Why has no one ever made this into a pinball machine? I don't know. Will I be sued by Games Workshop? Probably. Do I care? No. I hope to share this adventure with the rest of you as I delve into making the 40k universe come to life via pinball filled with Orks, Xenos and of course Space Marines.

I've drawn up some rules and logic, and have a machine that is pretty much half made with my playfield essentially being an empty slate to work on. My whole game currently runs on Fast boards with Mission pinball logic. I plan on incorporating some of my rulesets from my favorite games like Batman 66, Deadpool and JJP Pirates of the Caribbean. Obviously in the end, we want to make a fast, flowy, and most of all fun game. This project was inspired by those before me both Mark and Ryan TheArrrrrcade and McSquid whom I have been able to play pinball with before both in the NEPL and at expo. From them I have learned so much in a very short amount of time, especially from Steve at the pinball room https://www.youtube.com/@thepinballroom. I hope to have a working prototype in time for Pintastic Pinball Expo in September. Any ideas are welcome and I hope to see you all at expo.

    Ideas so far:
    -Eye of Terror Scoop
    -Chainsword shooter lane
    -Ork Waaagh multiball
    -"Xeno" lower third rollovers
-Bolter pop bumpers w/ shaker motor
    -power weapon playfield multiplier
-"Heresy" and "Chaos" Drop/ stand up targets
-Some form of spinners as well as the Whole spinner assembly from Tron with targets, I think this would be cool to either shoot a ramp into or have it drop the ball from an upper playfield.
-I also have a center action button and need ideas for that.

I like the computer ramp idea, aim the ball at the keys? Spell Warhammer?

Following your project, I love the theme !

Buy the tank treads and turret fom someone's GTF and you make a "looted" battlewagon cabinet.

Honestly space Marines never get me excited so I'd prob do a mostly ork theme machine. Maybe the story is gathering scrap to build a stompa or something.

I know I haven't updated In a while but work be damned I'm almost done with the playfield and code is starting to be written. I realized I have the wrong apparatus for a kickback but might be able to work in the up post when I get the wire ramp returns in. Meanwhile I need to wire up the motors and 3d print a 3 bank motor hosing bracket and cam shaft to drive the bank up and down. I have a HUGE box of parts coming this week for the cabinet and will start working on cutting playfield 2 which will be cleaner and not made of mdf which was a mistake from the start. My playfield inserts are gonna be all circles cause they are easy to cut and will save very precious time for now as pintastic expo is bearing down

    Exterminatus action button.

PanzerKraken that and I'm also expecting to program the rules of total nuclear annihilation in as a side game. Haven't got the name down but I'm thinking something along the lines of complete viral exterminatus.

I have been working my ass off to get this game going. I took a week off from work and worked on my machine for about 6 days straight from 9am to 10pm with breaks and I ended up bringing the thing to pintastic because it flipped, scored and had some lights. Sure it wasn't great but man did I learn ALOT. Geometry, shot width , layout, FIXING STUCK BALLS. I have a lot of ideas for this game including a complete layout re-design. Its been a trip, more updates to come when my LED connectors come in. I had to design and print a 3-bank AFM remake motor cam because you literally cannot find that part AT ALL. So wire forms, lights, more inserts and lights will be my goal for the next few months until Pintastic in April. I need to sleep more lol.

Sleep? Lame. That’s so last generation
It was good meeting you at the show, I’ll be watching here for updates!

Great work so far - you know you’ve found a good fit of a hobby when you are stoked to take a week off from work to dedicate to it. So satisfying to have solid chunks of time to build and see progress! Glad you got it to a show and hope to see it at more!

Very cool theme, and layout. Just found this, and I'll be following along. Nice work.

This is so rad. I love Warhammer. Have you landed on who the various factions are? If so, and if you want any models painted up for it send them to me and I'll build/paint them for you. If it's anything that's in my current pile of shame I'll build and paint them and donate to the cause.

    Watching this project with interest!

    Definitely following this! Ideas,

    1. For a chaos multiball it can be like Judge Dredd (i.e. Judge Fire, Judge Fear, etc)where each level of jackpot is a different chaos god.
    2. Maybe do something like the Apollo 13 thirteen ball multiball where half of em drain immediately for an Imperial Guard mode.

Really the main issue with 40K is the amount of stuff to pick from.

For real! Content wise the problem is what do you cut, not what do you add?

Hey guys! So now that pinstastic is over I can get back to posting! Progress has been made! We got lights, GI, we got sounds, a new subwoofer and audio interface board and a very fast and shooty 3 flippers! I'll be updating this tonight with photos

I love your ideas, so keep em coming. So far we have some basic rules which is 4 main modes for the chaos gods and a 2 ball Necron-lock multiball. The upper rollovers are Gork and Mork which will effect the colors of the pops and your bonus multiplier. The left bank of targets will spot a xenos and qualify modes for you. There will be minor faction modes much like batman 66's minor modes which you can stack. The pops are gonna be Orky and go DAKKA when they go off. I can post a video of the current rules if you like.

I don't want to put legit models in because I dont think a guardsman will hold up to a 80 gram pinball flying at it at 20MPH but I certainly appreciate your kindness. I have some sections to rework and tweak from the show but it held up really well and people generally liked it.

For sure a pinball would go exterminatus on a guardsman, but that's what the Aegis Defense Line is for!

Dioramas under acrylic is the way to go for models.

Also if you want I have some various pieces of cardstock with Warhammer art from the battleforce size boxes. Could be good for the backboard/blades, or trimmed for the apron. Let me know if I can send you anything. I'm looking at the Leviathan one but I think I still have the Chaos Knights and I can ask around our gaming club if there's a specific one that would match an area. Can't wait for the pictures, man!!!
