Still bumping!

It's been 7 years! Help me out with some er, a head!

Found a proper tongue, but still need an unbroken head.

Thanks, Gang!

"Did you hear about the fire at the circus?"

"It was in tents!"

Wokka Wokka Wokka!

Bump to the top!

I have a head but it sounds like mine might be in the same shape as yours? Can you post any pics at all?

John, thanks for responding!

Here's what we're working with - already glued in multiple places, eyes cut into, "custom" paint, and most frustrating, ZERO mounting tabs.

Dayhuff , please tell me that what you've got is better than this!

can't someone 3d print one of these?

mcuzz I believe that due to the complex shape, it really needs to be vacuum formed - now, I am no expert, but I DID stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

Here's what I have.

As a potential owner of GL I also was curious about any repro of the lizard head. Seems like an easy break point of the tabs :/ sad there is nothing. Also the tongue?! What is the original made out of?

#11 5 months ago

Vacuum forming might also be an option (as was mentioned), but unfortunately a sample might need to be destroyed in order to create a mold. Probably not practical, unless you can model it. Vacuum forming might back-light better than 3D-printing (parallel lines might show), as lots of folks like to have the eye's illuminated on the head.

I have a complete head, but it's a bit warped from heat. Horns are sagging down a bit more than they should. Need to see if it's possible to reheat and warp back they way it should be.

Dayhuff I'll send you a PM

northvibe there has never been a reproduction head offered, and I have asked the usual players (ramp producers) if it was a possible future project. Concerns arise in how many they could sell, and it was never deemed a viable project - although it has been some years since I last brought it up. The tongue is a lexan type plastic.

Ghostly agreed that vacuum forming is the ideal path for creating a new run. Are the mounting tabs intact on your sample?

Huh. I feel like marco/PBL etc would be on board to have stock, at least Marco as they seem to like to have older game parts. May have to have the creator work with PPS on licensing potentially.

This has got to be about the longest running ad on Pinside.
Is there a prize for that?

Anyway, GL is a great game.
Hope you find the pieces, or someone finally re-makes them.
Good luck!

RCA1 Thanks for the chuckle! I needed that...I do love this title and have been around long enough to realize that sometimes it takes YEARS to source a part.

It'd be awesome if one of the gurus (looking at you, Freeplay40 and JodyG ) could make a new cast, but I also know it wouldn't drive a ton of orders. It would also require that either the buyer or the seller paint each unit.

Bottom line - it's a tough piece to reproduce!
