I've got one of these in line to be restored right now with a top restorer. I think I'm around 6 or 7 in line with him. I might get it late summer; really can't wait. What a great looking and playing game!

Clearcoated cabinet tonight . This layer will be sanded to bury the lines left by the stencil and it will get clearcoated again , Hopefully I'll be done with the paint work this week .

You are truly an artist sir!!!

#185 10 years ago
Quoted from trilogybeer:

Here's a pic of the cabinet with the final clearcoat . If I get a lttle time this weekend I'll start puting the cabinet back togather .

The photo came out sized strangely so all the detail was lost . . . at least on my cpu.

Drooling over here. That is straight pinball porn right there!!!

Ok I see the diff now on ipdb.org -- which one is the purple/pink robe combo?
-mof

Newer one; prototype had green.

Quoted from mof:

Is it possible to get the newer version of the artwork with a chrome door?
-mof

Yep; change the coin door. You can make it look like whatever you would like.

#209 10 years ago
Quoted from trilogybeer:

My goal is to have it finished by the end of summer , if that happens I'll be happy .

You are certainly on pace for that it seems. This has really come together to be stunning . . . I know i've said that before but it can't be overstated. What does your backglass look like?

#238 10 years ago

Man, I keep checking this thread and getting more and more amazed. Also, seeing these machines is making me more and more anxious for my Sorcerer to arrive!!!

Quoted from trilogybeer:

Sweat ! you've got a Sorcerer coming . Is someone restoring it for you or are you just waiting on shipment ?

It is being restored. I've been waiting about four months for my turn with the restorer. It is finally here (or almost here I should say). I'll post pics as I get them. I personally view this game as a work of art and it will be proudly displayed (and played) in my office when it is finished...it won't be with my other games.

LMAO! So true, everyone in this thread is a Sorcerer maniac - we are good people too! I'm trying not to bug my restorer . . . but damn I'm ready to see some pics of my future game!!!!

Quoted from Ranhorton:

Holy crap that's an amazing restoration!

Thanks man. I'm really happy with it. Its been a long several months of waiting for my turn with the restorer. The base game was more challenging to find than I thought it would be to. There just were not that many good donor Sorcerer games out there to be had so sourcing the title took awhile.

Quoted from kyle5574:

My admittedly small victory is overshadowed by all these beautiful restoration pictures, but...for the first time ever, all my pop bumpers are lit! They worked for about a day when I first got the machine, then they all started to go out during play. For a while I could twist the bulbs to add some tension and get them to stay lit. When that stopped working, I replaced one of the bayonet sockets--that one worked for a couple months and then went out like the rest. Finally I gave up and replaced them all with wedge sockets and 555 bulbs. Good riddance!

Don't fret...the entire GI has gone out on mine...can't figure out what happened.

My Sorcerer is about to get an upgrade from my office to my main home game room. The game is too good just to sit around unplayed for weeks at a time.

#816 8 years ago

So Sorcerer sure seems to be getting a lot of positive buzz. I woke up to an offer to buy mine this morning.

While I certainly appreciate all offers, my Sorcerer is not for sale at the moment or any time soon.

Quoted from Jodester:

Hoping the group might help me track down a problem on a friend's Sorcerer. The drop target mechanism is acting flaky. Sometimes you can play 2 or three games on the machine and the drops work fine. Then they will not trigger the solenoid to reset and the game keeps scoring kits to the three drops while the targets never reset. I looked at all the wires and everything seems to be ok. No bad wiring solder joints after check continuity. Any ideas where else to look?

I'm bumping this question as the machine at issue is sadly mine. Any ideas that might help Jodester and me get my wonderful machine fully functional? Thanks!

#841 8 years ago
Quoted from Ben1981:

my 2 cents: did you try disassemble and rebuild the drop target assembly? sounds like a mechanical problem resetting the drops. the assembly is easy to access, comes right off with 4 screws.
good luck finding the error!

We did not. We will give it a try.

Quoted from Ben1981:

did you check the microswitches for the three drops? does the coil fire and the targets simply can't come up or do the drops stay down for good?
also check the switch wiring.
good luck!

The drops stay down for good once they are down. The game will play normal for a few games before this problem manifests. Once the problem manifests the drops don't come up and the score just keeps shooting up as if they keep scoring.

up my Old in Box Sorcerer tonight and had a blast! It's a fun machine and has been restored nicely! Officially in club now!

Gorgeous!!! Where did you get the restoration done?

#899 8 years ago
Quoted from johnnyutah:

TNT. Playfield is in great shape, new Rotten Dog LED displays, working great. I'm not a huge fan of LED lights on older pins but I dig them on this one.

gosh they did gorgeous work. I remember a Gorgar they did that was also stunning. Looks like they keep upping their game.

I want to give a special shout out to Pinsider Jodester who came over last night and solved my longstanding drop target issue with my Sorcerer. Thanks Jodester!!!
