Those are sharp!

Wow, how long does the bell ring when you get the GC score? i thought it was just extra ball till it went for ages.

I know it's not a great score, but i doubled my best.

Quick putting it back together question...this is the harness connector for the ‘eye’ flashers at the back of the cab.

Where does it connect?

Thanks!

Just finished a CPR playfield swap a couple days before my firstborn arrived! All metal parts ultrasonic cleaned/tumble polished. New CPR plastic set, new drop and target decals, and a center plastic protector on the way from wizard_mode . Really happy how it turned out, using warm white leds for the playfield GI, incandescent 47’s for the pf inserts and backbox. I just need to print or get some nice score/instruction cards.

I designed these Sorcerer apron cards today and wanted to share. I just put them in my pinside store if anyone wants me to print and laminate some for you.

I ordered these cards and thought they were money well spent. Very nice looking and laminated, so better than I could do and save me some trouble printing.

I looked around and I thought those were the nicest designed ones I could find, otherwise I would have printed some free ones. Like you said, laminated and don’t have to deal with printing etc. I ordered yesterday and they’re already on the way! They also threw in a Diner card as the shipping charge to Canada was $5.
That was a nice bonus.

Could some nice Sorcerer owner take a few picture on how the cables to the standup targets are connected?

Post it here, PM me or send a mail to:

Thanks

Are there replacements for the ramp on this title?
I have a Firepower 2 with a split on the weld...is this a problem for Sorcerer also or does the placement higher up the playfield help with that?
Are there other titles that use this ramp?

The little acorn nuts on the plastics, are they M3? Just trying to get rid of most of the white ones and order black.

Quoted from punkin:

I wouldn’t think they are metric, but can’t say with certainty.

#2014 3 years ago

I'm in a metric country, it won't matter what the thread is, but so long as the diameter is right. it will cut it's own thread in the nylon.

#2015 3 years ago

Yeah, it's a metric world except for us. The only ones in the U.S. that use the metric system are our scientists. Hey, wait a minute. Maybe that's why the guy on Pennsylvania Avenue hates scientists so much. It's the metric system!

Cliffy has made a limited run of ball guides that will fit Mirco's misaligned left ball guide holes. Email him to order!

Got the m3 ones yesti, they are tiny. Ordered m5 and m8, now wait two weeks again.

Picked up a sorcerer and the flipper coils aren't working. Looks like the wiring may have been hacked on them. Can someone post close up pics of all three of their flipper mechs and the wiring for them and their respective EOS's? I went thru the gallery and there are a couple pics but most of them are a little hard to really see.

Hi guys, just got a Sorcerer!
It's not working yet though.

So I wanted to ask if someone had a few pics of the backbox boards and connections, and from the bottom rear part of the cabinet, where the transformer is located.

I have several cut cables, and seem to be missing stuff.
Many thanks in advance!

edit: definitely missing a plug+cable to connect the bridge rectifiers.
Also looking like I am missing the power selection on the transformer

Anyone would know where to buy the spinnery for Sorcerer?

1 week later
#2030 3 years ago

So I just got one of these. So far zemes cool. Seems to work great. Mine has a mint backglass and new pinscore boards. BUT the playfield while not really any wear, has some mylar and paint is splitting a bit. Some mylar is lifted on the insters as well as some faded/missing text. Everything is readable tho.

Question. Are there hard tops for this or something to nice up the playfield? Are nib or remake playfield readily available or a rubber kit?

Recommendation for LEDs?

Also vinyl for siding? Mines a decent cab but a clean up and a vinyl cabinet art could be nice.

Also settings? Or a manual?

There's a grounding strap just inside the door that's hooked to inside if cab but not the door. Wondering where that straps supposed to be lol

I'll post pics later.

I have a few sketchy bulb sockets that are part of the strings joined together by the common ground bracket (like the bonus and playfield x ones, for example). I have already tried cleaning them, are there any other tricks with these William's sockets to try before having to replace EVERY socket with a single?

To the poster above: comet warm LEDs for GI and color match for inserts. Manual with settings can be found at IPDB. That ground strap is probably supposed to be connected to the door.

Shit ok.

Could someone scan his? I'd make a stencil out of it, I'm missing both.

Action Pinball has 3 of these in stock. Part #: A-7861-K looks pretty close says its a replacement for 31-1019-554 "F14". Sorcerer is 31-1019-532. and both part numbers are in the same parts catalog so they might work they also have a few white versions that look like a possible match as well.

HA figured somewhere on coin door. Better get that on so I don't get killed giving myself credits haha. btw. how do you turn the volume down?

thanks

#2037 3 years ago

So I just noticed sometimes when I hit either flipper it scores 10 pointa lol. Is that normal? I can't believe that's normal but can't see it activating anything lol.

I mean I could get an infi score leaving it in the lane and just spamming the flippers for a week hahaha

Actually if I barely bump my hand on the hold down bar too lmaooo wtf

#2038 3 years ago

Switch needs adjusting somewhere.

#2039 3 years ago

Yeah check your ten point switches, one of them is probably gapped too small or the rubber is too tight and the vibration from the flipper or whackin the lockdown bar is causing it to make and score.

Quoted from Sinistarrett:

but it would have to be a micron apart then because when I say barely touch I mean like the act of leaning on it haha. or even placing my hand on it lol I thought it was electrical as maybe my hand was making some kind of contact thats how soft. although the more i did it lightly i noticed it took SOME effort.

You'll find a volume pot on the tilt panel, just under the ball tilt.

Take the glass off and just start touching the switches, you'll find them. Worse comes to worse you can put it in switch test and it will tell you.

+1. There’s also an on-board adjustment for the speech to audio mix.

tell me more about that? what do you mean?

are there mods to make the sound clearer? I mean it def sounds 80s lol for example I cannot tell if he's saying, you are done or you are DUMB lol.

also, I set this setting to 1 to save it in memory but when I drain a ball it still resets the sorcerer progress. I know by default it does that but this settings leads me to believe it saves it on drain?

The 10 point switches should be the ones that are just behind a rubber (like the lane change one at the right of the top lanes). Unless you have the compound problem of having a switch too tightly gapped in front of a sling and the sling also not working.

thanks. I will look. Any idea on why Sorcerer progress wont save even when that setting is set to do so?

It’s been a while since I looked at it, but I think there is a very small post on the auxiliary speech board in the back box that lets you balance the speech with the rest of the audio. On Sorcerer, the speech board is connected by a ribbon cable to the MPU at the lower right.

As for improving the sound, I upgraded the speakers to Pinsounds and was very pleased with the results.

#2049 3 years ago

I upgraded speakers in mine too and it makes a big difference.
