Nice! You make it look easy!
I've been watching this thread for a while waiting to see the end result and man did that come out good! Nice job
I just finally got all the black rubber on my Sorcerer replaced with new white rubber. Game still usually kicks my ass but I did at least get a 3M my third game.

That back glass is sweet!!!
Quoted from Ranhorton:Having a new bro-mance with Sorcerer.
Your backglass looks really nice . I can't wait to finally get mine back togather .
I cut the corners out with a exacto knife ( On the stencils I cut I put these corners into this stencil and they line up with the first color , making it easier the get the second color lined up properly in the corner ) I also cut into the lines just as I did for the head stencil . The center circle I cut windows in 4 spots.
Again I taped these pieces into position , leaving the backing on . I did the 2 outer pieces first . I then pealed the backing and applied the 2 outer pieces , and removed the tranfer tape . Then I did the center piece . With the windows cut into the circle I was able to measure the part of the outer ring (first color ) that gets overlaped . The gets my circle with W placed in the center of this ring .
I will need to lightly scuff both these colors before clearcoating . This will get clearcoated sanded and then clearcoated again , This removes the line left from stenciling and makes the cabinet smooth as glass . Again Thanks to Kneissl . As you can see the vector artwork that he created produced great resaults .
Quoted from Kneissl:Nice work! I hope I can pull it off.
You'll get it , Your black base color looks good . Your steps will be a little different then mine because I do believe you are using laquer ( correct me if I'm wrong ) But ounce you've applied your stencil you will want to scuff the areas getting paint stenciled on ( this makes the paint adhere much , much better ) and tac cloth to remove dust .
Quoted from trilogybeer:Clearcoated cabinet tonight . This layer will be sanded to bury the lines left by the stencil and it will get clearcoated again , Hopefully I'll be done with the paint work this week .
You are truly an artist sir!!!
All the flashers are tinted red. I'm putting in the super bright 4 led pinball life bulbs with an led ocd controller http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=13yb2YfiZ98 and regular incandescent for the rest of the GI
Also a purple upper flipper and yellow lightning flippers. i think the lightning goes with the art. If anyone has white lightning i'd be interested.

Game might be tough with the lightning flippers . You do know those are shorter ?
Quoted from trilogybeer:Here's a pic of the cabinet with the final clearcoat . If I get a lttle time this weekend I'll start puting the cabinet back togather .
The photo came out sized strangely so all the detail was lost . . . at least on my cpu.
Introducing the black magic sorcerer . Had a liitle time to start puting stuff togather . My legs , side rails ,coin door and a few other parts I did in black pearl . You can see the difference in colors in second pic with flash . Darkened the whole game up I think it will look really nice when eveything is finished and back togather.
Had to just put my playfield back into cabinet (they've been apart for so long ). Got a new set of plastics that I will put on when I'm closer to finishing this project but I painted the plastics above the flipper lanes tanslucent red and I will be keeping those plastics on.
Quoted from Ranhorton:A murdered out Sorcerer!
It's going to look amazing once complete.
Thanks ! So also the darker orange on cabinet is starting to make a little more snese is it not?
I may not be doing a full restore right now, but today I rebuilt the upper flipper, put 63's in the Sorcerer flashers and now have all lamps working, Novus 2'd the playfield twice, a coat of Carnuba wax, and replaced most of the rubber. I also put new brackets on the playfield earlier this week because the front of the playfield wasn't lowering down all of the way for some reason. The original brackets were 1/4" too short. I'm still baffled as to why that is because the cabinet looks fine to me. Whatever, it is now a constant 6 degree pitch throughout the entire playfield.
Game is playing great! It's amazing what a little TLC can do.
Now I have to decide whether I should play or rebuild my F-14 flippers....
Anyone know why some Sorcerers have the chrome coin door while others have the black one?
thanks!

No kidding. Sorcerer is vicious enough as it is, putting lightning flippers on it violates the Eighth Amendment ban on cruel and unusual punishment.

The ones with chrome coin doors are the early production ones .

What other differences are there? I want to find a Sorcerer with a chrome door...
