Willing to buy or just download. I have the manuals for both from ipdb and access to other Stern Schematics but would like schematics for each of Cosmic Princess and Nine Ball. Thx.

ipdb still has classic stern manuals.

I do not see much schematics in them though.

If you specify what you are working on someone will likely post a link to what you need on Torrent.

I've decided that maybe LAI (the Australian manufacturer of Cosmic Princess) never made any schematics for it, after all there were only 330 made and they maybe didn't have the ability to draw up a schematic. In the meantime, I have been using Hot Hand schematics off IPDB and these seem to be working very well. Probably the ideal alternative schematics for CP would be Stern Trident, since CP uses the Trident MPU, the only real difference being the collect bonus saucer. Would you agree? Anyone seen schematics for Trident?

#5 4 years ago

They are on ipdb.

#6 4 years ago

IPDB only has manuals, no schematics, for CP & NB

#7 4 years ago

Oh, thought you wanted to look at Trident schematics.

Duh! Yes, you're right, thx dothedo. The Trident schematics are on IPDB. I had a brain fade there.

You can use any MPU-200 schematic. You can figure out the coil / lamp designations by wire colors. Everything else is the same.

Thanks, barakandl, that is handy to know.

this is a lamp schematic for flight 2000.

#23 2 years ago

Anybody else have the right schematic?

#24 2 years ago

Interesting, I never looked at it before but it is from my original Nine Ball manual. Hopefully someone else can post a correct one. I can't imagine they were all printed with the wrong schematic. Sorry about that.

Is there a specific issue you're trying to solve?

As barakandl mentioned above: "You can use any MPU-200 schematic. You can figure out the coil / lamp designations by wire colors. Everything else is the same."

The wire colors to the Lamp Board SCRs appears the same between different game schematics so you should be able to map it out (unless your problem is that you have some disconnected lamp wires and don't know where they go).

i.e. at the Lamp Driver board:
SCR Q1 goes to J1 pin24 and the wire to the lamp is always Brown-Blue
SCR Q2 goes to J1 pin25 and the wire to the lamp is always Purple-Black
....
SCR Q59 goes to J3 pin4 and the wire to the lamp is always Red-White
SCR Q60 goes to J3 pin3 and the wire to the lamp is always White-Blue

Looking for the transistor that belongs to this 40 thousand light. Wire color going to the socket is white with a blue-dashed stripe.

Ok, it looks like the Lamp Driver board should have two lamp wires using White with Blue (they might be the same looking wire, or the blue might be dashed on one wire and striped on the other, but the main color will be white).
See if your wire exactly matches either or both of the following wires at the respective connector on the Lamp Driver board:

SCR Q20 goes to connector J1 pin13 and the wire to the lamp is White-Blue
SCR Q60 goes to connector J3 pin3 and the wire to the lamp is White-Blue

I can also confirm the Nine Ball schematic for the Lamp Driver, has a list of lamp descriptions from Flight 2000.

Great stuff. Any chance you can upload images of the other Nine Ball specific schematics to this thread when you have some spare time? Switch matrix, Solenoids, Wiring - etc.

#32 2 years ago

It's micro-small print, but we can try it and see if it's readable.

I found a nine ball manual being sold by one of the vendors at the York show and it also has the lamp driver schematics for flight 2000. WTF?

#34 2 years ago

It would be great if someone could upload to IMDB.org
That way schematics could be referenced by all.

I could really use the playfield switch matrix for Nine Ball right now. If anyone has it, please scan it. Actually, if anyone has a Nine Ball manual with schematics, upload them to IPDB as mentioned previously.
