If you can't find a replacement, what about a 3D printed version? I see lots of models of them on thingiverse. Maybe we can try something out with that?? Just would need some good pictures and measurements to try and make it fit. Plus you'd have to paint it. just some random thoughts if it comes down to you needing one.

When I had a DESW I had all sorts of problems finding original R2 and Death Star domes. Plenty of people had the repro death stars but they didn't have the same detail as the original. It may be a long shot but if you reach out to www.astromech.net - the r2 builders guys - they may have some ideas of off-the-shelf toys or printed stuff that will get you close. Alot of them will 3d print for reasonable price per print hour, too. These guys obsess about droid builds as much as we do about pins, so if anyone would have an out-of-the-box-thinking solution, they would.
