I do know a Quicksilver in Maine with blown out playfield, not working and needing lots of love went for $3k for reference.
And yes. Lots of time and effort goes into making one of these the best it can be and can command those prices ($5K - $9K)
I love Classic Sterns and Ballys. Owed the heavy hitters of the Sterns since the mid 90s. (Bally too)
Star Gazer. Quicksilver, Seawitch, Nineball, Big Game, Cheetah, Ali, Stars, F2K, Meteor to name a few.
Bought duplicates whenever I could find them to restore for people as I knew how good these were before it was fashionable.
