Might've found one. Waiting on a couple of pf pics. The one we played at LAX was in very nice shape.
How many machines did Sonic make?
Is it really a polyurethane pf?
One would guess that would warp a lot faster than wood. I'm curious now.

It's definitely wood. But it does have some sort of durable coating on the top surface. It could be polyurethane or something like that, but whatever it is it did a great job on keeping the playfield nice. Zaccaria games must have had something similar.

My seller is a 24 HR medical tech so he couldn't get away easily, and understood.
But it's been shopped out and ready for 2 weeks. Friday I'm finally picking it up, at Violent Steve's place no less. HU RAH.

No worries, we'll all be wearing condoms for protection. Hell I'm wearing one under my clothes right now.

Mann I can't wait to play this. So it's just too the spinner(s) to advance silver? Then saucer to collect? Can't remember.

#11 3 years ago

Finally.
Now that's in house I can tell y'all that NickBudlight got in touch with me about a Prospector he had. Really good price unshopped/broke, I elected to go with the shopped waxed and ready for a little more.
New bg, new posts and rubbers, and waxed 3 times.
Great seller!

Looking for legs for this. Nick put these on here and I figured what the hell, they're powdercoated, I'll get new legs. Thanks again Nick.

#14 3 years ago

Gotten in the 6's but haven't rolled yet. Hang tight.

#15 3 years ago

Nick is in Canton OH but delivered to Columbus OH so I could hang with my boy Violent Steve for a night.
GREAT SELLER!

Got a weird problem tonight. When the ball goes into the upper silver bonus saucer, which it does a LOT, esp off of a plunge, the score reel doesn't stop spinning. Just keeps adding pints until I turn off.
Any suggestions?

Stuck switch ?

Congrats on the find, took me a while as well, tho yours appears to be really nice.

I have a number of EM's(not all set up) and I've found that the EM Tech forum has a wealth of info and a better place to find your solution.

I will share that that there are at least 3 things possible and narrowing down is first step.

Is the ball kicking out of saucer? (eject coil not firing to clear and unload saucer switch)
Does this happen when you collect Silver Bonus in other saucer? (Silver Bonus Relay)
Does this happen when any other 1000 pt is scored? (1000 pt relay)

I'm not sure if there is a Stepper unit involved, if so and it's not Zero'ing out on bonus countdown( a switches closes which stops the pulsing of the 1000 pt relay) then it will also do what your saying.

And get a schematic, they are oh so helpful.

Hey socal I REALLY appreciate your post. One of my Indy buddies is also helping me, he thinks it might be the hold circuit. I'm not even sure what that is lol. The ball will not kick out of any of the 3 saucers. It just keeps scoring, and scoring, until I shut it off. Worked great for a week. Was surprised that Marco actually sells the manual and schematics for this. I'm just trying g to find other stuff to buy to justify the $10 shipping. I don't need anything but that manual right now ha.
But THANK YOU bud.

Mike thanks. That was my 1st guess too. If it is a stuck switch, it's one I can't find lol. I think it's a relay because all 3 saucers are not kicking ball out. Just non stop scoring.

#21 3 years ago

I think we all like to "pile on" when it comes to shipping from Marco!

Meanwhile, while your waiting I busted out my Schematic and now that I know nothing is kicking out, I looked for the common denominator( See Pic 1.) I've pointed to the circuit that handles all saucers and they all come thru a score motor switch, 4C . The other photo shows where C is in relation in the switch stack to the #4 score motor disc, along with wire colors.

I would check continuity thru that switch as you manually turn the score motor(machine unplugged!)Alligator clips work well if you can isolate them from touching any of the other solder tabs in the mess of wires. A wise EM tech on this site told me to always check with the meter not the tone.

Since it was working and just stopped ejecting, I would check for a cold or broken solder joint between the switch the the Jones plug connector to relays all the way up to the eject coil. But since they're all not working, it's likely not up in or past the relays.(Pic 1)

Good luck and machine unplugged!

Hey SoCal again, thank you very much dude. I actually sat in on the EM pinball online clinic (which I found here on Pinside) and they showed me where stack 4C was. I cleaned all the switches, still nothing. Then I noticed the copper wiper on the stepper unit was getting bogged down. Cleaned it and VOILA!
The guys in that clinic were AWESOME though. Thanks again.

Closing this down and paying my Pinside fee since I found mine here. Thanks guys.
