I have owned both, and like them about equally for different reasons. Yes, original has better callouts all around. But vault is not as bad as some make it out to be in that department. Art is great on both, but I prefer the vault comic art slightly. The "Tell MJ" mode in the vault takes a lot of flack...and I get that. But it actually works for me with alternating shots going between "yes" and "no". It has an odd charm. I miss Macho Man in the Bonesaw mode, but it's replacement, Electro, is awesome. Color DMD went a long way towards helping the animations in the original, but the vault completely blows it away here. The side rails on the vault are super cool, and the different powdercoat is nice. Both are great machines. If I couldn't have my vault, I would be perfectly happy with an original. Go with whichever one puts a bigger smile on your face!
