I don't think CPR ever made TZ playfields.

Mirco did, however.

I appreciate the PM and post. You are correct, I did contact Mirco/HCP and they do have them. Is the three mag version the one I want? Not too familiar with TZ.

If you have a sample with the third magnet installed, OR if you want to add a third magnet, then go for the 3 magnet version.

Otherwise, pick the two-magnet version.

Be very carefull with the Mirco PFs. I got one of the early pastel colored ones and I looked at it a year later and ALL the inserts were ghosted. I asked him to make it good and he sent me another regular one which looked great but on further inspection the clear is coming off right under the special insert on the left outlane. Its a pisser as there is no way he is going to give me another one so I will have to send these to be fixed. I guess I can sell one to pay for fixing the other put its still a PITA to have to do this. CPR makes the best repro PF of anyone. Mirco is a nice guy and I don't want to run him down but I guess I got a shit hand twice in a row. Actually I have gotten 3 bad PFs from him. My WH20 PF had issues as well.

Yeah, I've seen reports of the clear lifting, and on clear that was far too thick. But I was aware all these were on the first run of fields, and not the 2nd one. However, I could be wrong - just what I heard.

I've done a few Mirco swaps. No problems at all, even years later. His stuff is good and he stands behind it.

I had three AFM PFs that were beautiful in every way but I have returned 3 TZ PFs. The first had dots all over it from the bubble wrap the second had ghosted inserts and the third had the clear lifting on a quarter size spot beneath the special insert. Im going to send the last one to be repaired.

Hmm I am a little concerned with Mirco now. I am doing a HEP and do not want issues. I was going to send my PF in to CPR but thought it would be faster and a tad easier with a new repro but now I question that. All your opinions are greatly appreciated and more are welcome. I am the one who purchased the project TZ about a week ago with no boards. I have done two restores so far - white water and fish tales. I will start a thread once I began the TZ project. I am going to step it up a notch and take no short cuts on this. All opinions matter. So please advise to do's and don'ts. Thanks a lot for contributing. I am always amazed by the wealth of knowledge with others on Pinside! Simply amazing. You guys are incredible!!

I would honestly stick with your current PF, get it touched up and cleared, IMHO.

#11 8 years ago

I think I just may do that.

If you are doing a HEP, just let Chris advise you...that's what you pay him for.
