    Hello everyone,

I got lucky at work and my company has decided to do a team building party that involves pinball. We will be going to Joystix here in Houston http://www.joystixamusements.com/. There’s going to be a mix of a few older folks (like me) and a bunch of younger folks that may have never seen or played pinball before. I’m looking for some easy 2 player team and 4 player team competitions. It’s going to be a fun, non-serious night that might even get some new people interested in pinball.

Some of the friendly competitions I’m thinking about are:

One handed pinball – everyone plays 3 balls on the same machine using only one hand and records the score. High score wins.

Team flippers – 2 player teams are picked at random and one person plays the left flipper and the other plays the right flipper. High score on the same machine wins.

Tommy pinball – 2 player teams are picked at random. One person is blindfolded and the other has to tell them when to flip. High score on the same machine wins.

    ????

What other fun contests can you guys think of? Take a look at the game lineup at Joystix and let me know what games would be good candidates for these kind of competitions (not excessively long ball times, straight forward rules etc). The grand prize will probably be a cheap, party store trophy, some free drink tickets but best of all, bragging rights.

    Thanks for your help.

For Novelty, if you wish to build one, a Mirror Box can be made to fit above the playfield.
It inverts everything....Maybe not team building, but different.

Everything I could think of otherwise, you have listed....Great IDEA!!!

Try putting a towel over the lower 1/4 of the PF (so you can't see the flippers).
"cross-over" pinball, where you have to put your right hand on the left flipper button
    and visa-versa.

I always have fun w/the...left hand right flipper....right hand left flipper. : ). Sounds like a good time!

Great ideas so far. Keep 'em coming. I know we have some pretty creative people out there.

For team building, you could always do like a 2 person team tournament. Maybe each person does a round on their own, then the team has one person blindfolded while playing and the other calling out when to hit right or left flippers. Obviously low scoring, but everyone will be on the same level. Then combine the scores, and the highest 2 person team score wins.

1-"twisted split flipper" person A stands on the left but flips the right flipper with his left hand, person b stands on the right but flips the left flipper with his right hand.

2- Clap between flips - ( never tried this and it might get old and hard to ref quick)

3- Timed game- only 30 seconds per ball, if you lose the ball before 30 seconds tough- after 30 seconds you have to stop flipping

4- Objective based game on a machine - like a pin golf objective - ( quickest time to start move your car on Creature would be an example) , We did that once with number of loops in Dr. Who and it was silly but fun.

Anyway just a few quick thoughts
