I think it might have been too racy just guessing. Similar to what happened to Medusa prototype vs. production, and Devil's Dare vs. production, etc.

Seems like it would probably not be too terribly difficult of a project to cut a new white backbox lamp board to match up with the proto glass. That would be pretty awesome.
