Bump for looking to purchase a Bally BMX pinball.

Quoted from Squeakman:

Buy Hardbody... retheme to BMX.. problem solved. lol

That has actually crossed my mind. I’d just need good scans of the pf to do it.

Great game! The outlane save is hard to learn and fun to master. Miss mine, cant own them all.
Did you know, this BMX was supposed to be ET the Extra Terrestrial? Thats why so few were made, 400 something. They couldn't come to an agreement with licensing.

Great factoid

Maybe I should retheme hardbody as ET.

But I’d still rather have a BMX if anyone has one.

What’s a nice BMX go for?

Apparently the same price as "hen's teeth" since I haven't been able to find anything for sale.

I know they're not the exact same layout, but close enough, you could make it work. But I like the old bally cabinets & boardsets (I'm more familiar with them).

Yeah I have seen exactly 1 BMX my entire life. Good luck Bump

Yeah, the one at VFW convinced me that I needed one. I just got tired of waiting for one to come up for sale, so thought I’d try to find one.

I had never seen one until my brother appeared at our office with one. I’m anxiously awaiting the end of the restoration because I’ve still never played it!

Sure, rub it it! haha. Please post some pictures when the restoration is done.

I know where there is one, up in a bar in one of the smallest towns (so small is not incorporated, population about 600) in Arizona. The game might play, but it is always shut off sitting in a dark corner, kinda sad actually. The playfield is really worn. I will be traveling up there this weekend, do you want me to enquire if the owner will sell it? Thinking I might buy it myself, I asked on this forum earlier if anyone had a new BMX playfield and got zero response so I suspect you would have a lot of work to do to restore the playfield. Far as I know all plastics etc. are there . . .

Yes, it's definitely worth asking about. I would be interested.

I know a pf would be even harder to find than the game. But, I love projects and a challenge.

I have several complete BMX fully working games ranging from good working to super nice. Price range 3.5k, 4.9k, and 5.9k firm. My preference is to fully restore all to perfection before selling. Not interested in giving them away or price haggling. These where not cheap when I purchased them many years ago. Very hard to find over the years. Like so many, I purchased many games to get the best possible condition. Always stored in climate controlled location. Obviously only 406 made. I would trade for Joust, fathom or Bad cats.

I actually have a Joust, which happens to be above those price ranges, so maybe we could work something out some day, when I'm ready to move Joust along.

Quoted from imjay:

I just brought a BMX into the house. It's in good shape including playfield and head and bottom box art work. First thing I plan to do is stabilize the back glass with Krylon. The game powers up - self checks - and plays though it need a thorough cleaning and new rubbers and etc. and I'm not sure that all of the sounds are playing properly. Second thing I'm going to do is clean all of the male terminals on the boards and the female connectors. All original boards with no visible corrosion on the MPU and I don't recall where to find the serial number - on the left top side of the head looks like a faint BMX 125. I owned one of these for several years a long time ago and we found it to be a fun game to play and always a challenge so I'll clean and polish the PF and re-rubber and replace some light bulbs and then see what I've got - now that my bride and I have downsized we likely will want to sell it. Help finding the serial number and idea of value very much appreciated. THANKS

Yes, the serial number will be on the left side of the head, as well as the left side of the cabinet (just past the flipper button)

Value of it is dependent on condition. It sounds pretty decent, but picture would help narrow it down.

Either way, you’ve got a pm coming your way.
