After a couple of attempts to sell my Stargate I've decided to hang on to it. But it needs a good cleaning job, new rubbers and I want complete new LED lighting in it. Any do's or don't before getting started ? I saw some awesome pics of people who have used LED light instead of normal ones. Also want to know if there are any toppers for this one available. 72393.jpg72393.jpg38060.jpg38060.jpgAny advise welcome.

I wish this would be the endresult CCary ... these are pictures of inspiration I found on the internet. I have not deceided on what color the playfield is going to be. Should I choose for one or two colors or should I follow the colors on the field. Anyone suggestions ? The blue ringlight is looking pretty sharp. I read the guy who has that one made it himself. So if you read this ... help me out !

Looks like my old one, I miss it but ran out of room when I bought CC.

I'd recommend single no ghost leds for inserts.
I found leds with multiple light heads tend to over light the insets causing wash out to the full cut out of the insert.
Hope that made sense.

Also PBresource.com has hard to find parts and decals along with new ramps - rails- etc.

Thanks Hooked, I allready found this site. Problem is that most of the parts I'm looking for are no longer in stock. Like the metal ramps and wireform ramps. It seems finding parts is not as easy as it looks. Other problem for me is the shipping cost. Normal parts still cost me a lot because of the extra shipping cost on top. But c'est la vie. I think I will poundercoat some parts and maybe repaint them. Cabinet and legs could need some tlc also because of the rust. Still plenty to do ! Still any advise is welcome. By the way how do I become a SG member over here ?

Today I made an appointment to start the transformation of my SG and pull it in the LED dimension. I will be posting pictures along the way. If anyone has any good ideas now is the time to speak up. I will be following the pictures posted above as a guideline. Still looking for a good idea for a SG topper. Playing around with plasma globes and tubes to see how this will work out. Does anyone have good pictures from the decals or know where to download some ? Thanks ... !

Added spot light on the pyramid really highlights the area.

When I was cleaning a SG I owned I tried to remove the Pyramid to clean - after an hour of trying to remove it I just gave up and cleaned under it the best I could . I also remember some rubber rings under there that were the hardest I've ever replaced . I added two spotlights to shine on the 2-guards that gave the effect of shining a flashlight under your chin .

The pyramid and glider craft are easy to remove , when i shopped mine i had no real problem remove everything and clean the PF under the big plastic !!

The cointaker Kit for SG is real nice , end up like the pics at the begining of that thread

I think I am going to have the ramps and rails cleaned and remove the gold layer. Much easier (and cheaper) to give them the silver look. Will leave the pyramid gold. We will print out the decal set ourself and put them back with mylar. Does someone have a good picture or download for the decal set. Found some downloads for the instruction cards but don't like the fact that the lines are not all centred. Are there better ones ?
