I'm in the market for a new wallet. Currently carrying one of these:

But it's blowing some seams, and I've been thinking about trying out one of those money clip/card holder things, like the Ridge (of course I'd go for one of the $20 knock-offs, but something along those lines). Anyways, if you've got one to recommend, I'm looking for opinions.

Try looking at chaps leather wallets. They seem to last a long time.

    #3 4 years ago

I use the ridge and it's pretty decent; But I refuse to use an actual wallet. Nice and compact for a front pocket, carries 6-8 cards pretty easy.
I have the money clip version....actually i think I have the elastic band too but I never tried it.

We have Ross and few other cheap cloths store out here in CA. I will spend hundreds on pinball shit. But watches and wallets, I'm a cheap ass. So I got a Bosco, Nordstroms style wallet for $20.

Harveys makes some really nice mens wallets. They are made partially out a seat belts and hold up very well. Made in USA too.

This is the one I've had for over three years now, no issues. Can't go wrong for the price.

I’ve been using Couch slimline wallets for at least a decade. They have a bunch of styles and are made from automobile upholstery so they hold up for a long time.

I have one of these and love it. https://saddlebackleather.com/wallet
The leather has held up incredibly well. Plus it smells awesome. It's a little stiff at first, but once you get it broken in its great.

Fantom metal wallet, I added a money clip and a coin pocket to it. It holds a dozen cards and a button on the side spreads the cards out for easy access. I switched to metal because I had cards cracking.

Here’s the way I travel. In the front pocket. Cheap and easy. And if I have a larger roll with me it’s in the other pocket with a rubber band.

Have same one. On my 2nd actually.

I use one of these https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07SS1BP6S/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_ahYCDb0H85525

I love it, I got super tired of carrying a giant wallet fill of cards so I just carry the necessities.

    #16 4 years ago

Carried a bifold for years loaded with receipts and business cards and crap. At 41 having some serious lower back pain and the first thing my chiropractor did was pull that stupid bulky thing out of my back pocket. I bought this purely because it was on sale and well reviewed. I paid $15, but would gladly pay $30. I'm really happy with it.

Money clip holds all my cards and a few bills when I have them. Had it for years and years and love it. Super compact, holds just enough

I have a Tumi leather wallet. They're expensive, but the last one lasted almost 20 years.

    #20 4 years ago

People actually still carry wallets? I hate them.

    #21 4 years ago

Following this. I’m in the market for something.

    #22 4 years ago

I had a hand made leather wallet the size of Georges there for years. I'd go to the market where the o;ld guy made them every ten years when they fell to bits.

Now with carrying an S8 around i don't put my wallet in my pocket (or anything for that matter) anymore. I have switched to a small purse/phone combo.

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Samsung-Galaxy-Note-10-5G-S10-S9-8-Plus-Removable-Leather-Flip-Wallet-Case-Cover/264206790342?hash=item3d83f3aec6:m:mNfHqZuLjdO8y92V3NRmVkg&var=563766313235

This style, it lets me take the phone and wallet in one piece in my hand and my keys in the other. Phone cover comes with it. I carry a purse, but i'm big and covered in tatts so i don't get shit over it even in Australia where purses are not common among men.

    #23 4 years ago

I haven't used a real wallet for a few years now. I use this case for my phone and it holds physical 3 cards.

I've had the same wallet over 25 years. One of the companies that made baseball gloves made it. ( can't read the maker anymore ) Used the same leather they made the gloves with. Still works.

I love my Ridge wallet with money clip. It has RFID blocking to protect credit cards. I have used it for more than 2 years with no issues and my back actually feels better since I am not sitting on a wallet all day.

    Love my ridge wallet

    #29 4 years ago

Had this leather one for almost 20 years. I don’t stick anything in the back pockets anymore and live in basketball shorts through the summer. The Ridge wallet is small and durable. I’m using the cash strap which is ok. That’s my only complaint and I use my cash rewards Visa for the most part anymore. Cash is strictly for local businesses like my barber and steak sandwich guy.
