Quoted from sanctumwear:

I don't watch the show, but collect Colt Pythons, and everyone in the hobby knows about the show. Prices skyrocketed with it's popularity. I already have a few expensive toppers for the game

Sweet! Regardless of my love of the comic/show, I prefer S&W.

Quoted from Squizz:

Darn, Really was wishing for TWD by Stern.
So is Superman confirmed with SR and Stern?

Nope, its not Iron Maiden either. I think its Thunderbirds though.

Quoted from 2RustyBalls:

Was told by my Dist Stern was worried about the Zombie Theme in Europe. I think Stern is missing the boat on this one and should do a Zombie game.

I was told by Gary personally at expo a few years ago, that Zombies are "too gross" for a pin. At any rate, Is the show not on in Europe, or not a hit? Are Ford Mustangs a big deal in Europe? Serious question, I live in an American Car vacuum in Detroit, so I have no clue. That being said, I do not care about any car as a pinball theme. I do not care to take my work home with me.

#316 10 years ago
Quoted from pale:

TWD is big here in Europe.
I want a TWD-pin, that or a Die Hard pin

Then my opinion is validated. Make TWD happen Stern or JJP.

#317 10 years ago
Quoted from NiGh7MaRe:

TWD is very famous in Germany. I also want a TWD Pin badly

See above^

#318 10 years ago

I can't speak for everyone obviously, but if TWD had been announced, I would have put a few things up for sale to buy one. Oh well, Pins and money are safe.

#326 10 years ago
Quoted from Sparky:

Which would be better? Artwork from the comic or images from the show?

Your joking right?

#328 10 years ago
Quoted from lowepg:

For a collector, the comic (much more timeless, IMO)
For location, probably the tv show (more recognizable to a bigger audience)

Maybe, but I don't see anyone looking at Metallica in the wild, scratching their head "What is this cartoon version, of this band? I don't get it, lets go play megatouch."

The difference in earnings gained to earnings lost based on making the art look like the comic would be in favor of the comic art IMHO for Stern. With a backglass that says the Walking Dead, and comic art of Rick with his hat, and son by his side, people will get it.

If they do not get it, they are two drunk to take the dollar out of their pocket anyway. In fact they might as well be the walking dead.

#330 10 years ago
Quoted from Aurich:

They'll never do it, but my fantasy would be black and white and red art, the whole game. The new Centaur.

This!

Quoted from BigPhil:

What's The Walking Dead?

Crawled out from under rock, only to have tomatos thrown at you?

#340 10 years ago
Quoted from PinballManiac40:

I asked the same question to some of my friends, since I don't get cable at my house since I don't watch much tv anyway. It would be a waste of money for me. My friends did educate me on the series. Still have no desire to see it.

Fair enough, but you have me misquoted. If you have netflix, and horror/drama is of interest to you, check it out.

#341 10 years ago
Quoted from CptAwesomest:

I may have a little bias on this, but as far as a zombie themed comic as a pin.. id go with 68'

This option only delutes the water. That comic is not a big seller compared to TWD.

#343 10 years ago
Quoted from PinballManiac40:

I had Netfix back before I got into the pinball hobby, back in 2008. Don't have much time for watching movies much either. Priorities...work...normal house/yard work..help my parents every other Sunday...and last anything pinball (might be working on my games/others or having a pinball party or going to one).
It is nice being in Houston where we have the Houston Arcade Expo in November and only a 4 hour drive up to the Dallas area for the Texas Pinball Festival. I can only manage to bring one game to TPF since I normally have my game hitch a ride with someone going up there.

I here ya, If it was not for winter, I may not have seen the show either.

I guess the gambling world beat us. Walking Dead slot machine!

20140114_103542.jpeg 131 KB

I know what I will be looking for the next time a waste 20 bucks on slots.

Thanks for the pic!

#355 10 years ago
Quoted from Rascal_H:

Slots are looking more and more like flight simulators.
This thread had me all excited when it started. Even started considering what I could sell to fund it. Now it's just depressing. :/ You had me going for awhile.

+ 1, every time I see this thread pop up a part of me dies.

Quoted from BeaverBrewing:

stern should just do a George Romero pin instead...you could have a whole zombie themed pin and the license would cost about 10% of TWD.

The chances of this happening are slim and none. However the license could be free. Night of the Living dead is in public domain. You can download the movie for free without worry of stealing.

#409 10 years ago
Quoted from HighProtein:

Enough of this craptastic thread...
The Truth is that I already know someone
that is starting a new company
and that is developing a game based on this theme,
yes,
so,
sorry,
the cat is out of the figurative bag now.

Not really.

#412 10 years ago
Quoted from PappyBoyington:

Trust me, Stern will be making a WD pin.

I hope your right. Serious question...Have you been right about other future pins?

#414 10 years ago
Quoted from catboxer:

benheck said:
The Walking Dead, the dream pinball machine... what modes would it have? Toys? Features? How do you make this theme fun?

Come on Ben, how do video game companies make the scary, violent, or depressing themes fun on games. Not every game has to be funny. I would love a serious game for a change......BSD, nuff said.

That being said, I am looking forward to playing your game and more from Spooky Pinball. Thanks for the hard work!

Still waiting for someone to point out the major hint that points to TWD being made.

#457 9 years ago
Quoted from Mudflaps:

yeah, I got nothing.

#471 9 years ago
Quoted from DCfoodfreak:

I cant quote it but look at the post. JJP said we dont need two TWD pins.

He also said "I heard, someone already licensed the comic" Thats not necessarily Stern, though my fingers are crossed.

Jack could have easily been misinformed because of the Zen pinball that was likely in the works at that time.

#472 9 years ago

I'm in denial, because I will be shocked to finally be able to get a pin with a theme that I truly give two $h!@$ about.

#499 9 years ago
Quoted from PinballManiac40:

I don't know folks. Looks like VonnieD pinball is about to drop something next week Thursday at midnight.
At least that is what the announcer stated. » YouTube video
This doesn't look like it could be TWD?
» YouTube video

The character in the second clip had fangs. Zombies don't have fangs, it confuses the audience.
