Quoted from BeaverBrewing:stern should just do a George Romero pin instead...you could have a whole zombie themed pin and the license would cost about 10% of TWD.
The chances of this happening are slim and none. However the license could be free. Night of the Living dead is in public domain. You can download the movie for free without worry of stealing.
Enough of this craptastic thread...
The Truth is that I already know someone
that is starting a new company
and that is developing a game based on this theme,
yes,
so,
sorry,
the cat is out of the figurative bag now.

Not really.

I hope you don't mean a upcoming The Outbreak pinball were I drawn the playfield art for...
Quoted from Rarehero:OL it's like arguing religion...oh well.
Me: I don't believe in Walking Dead pinball! It does not exist!!!!
You: I have faith that Walking Dead exists!!!
Me: Prove it's real!!!
You: Prove it's not real!!!!
Trust me, Stern will be making a WD pin.
Quoted from PappyBoyington:Trust me, Stern will be making a WD pin.
I hope your right. Serious question...Have you been right about other future pins?
Quoted from benheck:The Walking Dead, the dream pinball machine... what modes would it have? Toys? Features? How do you make this theme fun?
It's not supposed to be fun. Eventually, everybody drains.

Come on Ben, how do video game companies make the scary, violent, or depressing themes fun on games. Not every game has to be funny. I would love a serious game for a change......BSD, nuff said.
That being said, I am looking forward to playing your game and more from Spooky Pinball. Thanks for the hard work!
Quoted from mikebetz42:» YouTube video
"Fish can hear you thinking just before you sneeze"
That's got to be the funniest thing I've seen on youtube for years.

Could not agree more. I personally prefer serious themes over humor. Give me games like Tron over FGY any day. Great example with BSD too.
Serious game play/humouress call outs, win/win. Title of the thread should be amended to spare people reading this codswallop.
Quoted from TigerLaw:I personally prefer serious themes over humor.
I would throw LOTR in the serious bucket as well. Whether the theme is serious or humorous, the key is how well it is executed.
Quoted from PappyBoyington:Trust me, Stern will be making a WD pin.
Doubt it, but if you're a fan of the show - I wish you luck!
Quoted from e4mafia:More popular than Breakng Bad? Honest question, what do you all think?
Right now TWD stands over 1 million viewers above BB finale.
This thread is 7 months old but gave the first clue that Walking Dead was going to be produced. Now we have a hint of confirmation, what do you think is going to be in the game? We have heard this will be a Borg/Lyman game, so already that is great news. Lets hear some speculation and congrats to the OP for calling this one so early.
Personally I am hoping for:
3 flippers
captive zombie or pop up targets with zombies
a good story line like Sterns tron where it is a quest to maybe kill the zombies and escape to live again....
So lets hear some conjecture!
Quoted from riggy469:Rumor is some sort of building, similar to the castle in MM. I would guess the prison? Also, drop downs mid-playfield, like 24 and CC.
That would be cool.
Building has to be prison, what other building stands out as iconic for the series? Zombie pin...Zombie pin...

If this is true, then TWD LE will be coming to Texas!

Did I miss this hint of confirmation recently?
Quoted from rommy:Building has to be prison, what other building stands out as iconic for the series? Zombie pin...Zombie pin...
Only other thing I could think of is Hershel's barn but prison makes a lot more sense.
Does anyone know if this is a Borg/Lyman pin?

The farmhouse, barn, well, RV, drugstore, and bar could all be put to good use on a playfield. Not so sure I think the prison would be better.
Quoted from PEN:I hope your right. Serious question...Have you been right about other future pins?
No, I just know on this one.
Quoted from Rarehero:Doubt it, but if you're a fan of the show - I wish you luck!
I didn't guess at this title because I'm a fan. I just heard from a very reliable source several months ago.
Quoted from PappyBoyington:I hope your right. Serious question...Have you been right about other future pins?
No, I just know on this one.
What I mean is that I never guess at the next title. It's not my thing.
I'd like to know that too since David Thiel is no longer working with Stern. He is an amazing sound engineer.
I would imagine they have a new sound engineer for their next game, perhaps Jerry Thompson since he worked on Mustang with David Thiel.
Quoted from dannunz:Who did the sound?
Quoted from jdoz2:Now I'm starting to believe. People seem to tell you stuff
I have the cash for a NIB purchase finally, but if they take forever to announce TWD, ill probably have the money blown by then
There is absolutely a "hint of confirmation"... Really way more than that. Could it all be a swerve? I guess, but at this point I would be very surprised if the the next Stern release was not TWD.
Quoted from C2CPinball:There is absolutely a "hint of confirmation"
I keep hearing we have this hint but I have yet to have anyone say exactly what hint it is, the usual. The announcement of the announcement coming.
Unless I am blind and missing something that was shown recently somewhere?
Since Stern has said their next game isn't until September I bloody well hope so!
Quoted from Eskaybee:I'd like to see this game pit the player as the zombie (or zombies - mb) vs the cast of TWD. Your mission to eat and convert characters from the show.
I bet there will be a zombie and a human version ala Transformers.
Quoted from mcluvin:I bet there will be a zombie and a human version ala Transformers.
Now that would really suck for my pocketbook. lol
Marcus
I'm really looking forward to a TWD pin! As many of you know, zombies are my "must have" theme.
That said: I won't be ordering one on release. I've (finally) learned my lesson. I won't buy without playing, and I will wait until the pin has a chance to have the code flushed out. STLE (a great theme to me) was the last straw for me (XMLE was the first).
Even if it's Lyman, who we can rely on to come through with great rules, it will take quite some time. MET has been out for more than a year, and it is only now getting to the point where it is nearly complete.
I waited before buying MET for 5 months after release, got a Premium, and I love it...but I still had to wait months for a meaningful code update. I could have waited until now and could still get a NIB MET Premium, and it's a much better pin that it was when I first got it.
Patience is a virtue, and can be nearly impossible in this hobby, but I've got to the point where I will just say no, and will wait. I'd prefer to have other pins that have finished code in the meantime.
